Terrible experience

Terrible experience. I ordered items on sale that showed in-stock on their website on 11-28. Today 12-13, I was sent a email that said they canceled the order. Now I'm scrambling to look for items elsewhere. I was told over and over by customer service that it was a shipping delay. Don't buy here. It's a huge headache.

Pending Charges that won’t fall off!

Tried placing an order on buy buy baby website for a stroller and there was a glitch in the system. My credit card was charged 3 times with pending transactions and they’re suppose to fall off within 3-5 business days according to bed bath and beyond website. But according to the bank they won’t come off my account until February 5,2023! Christmas will be over by then! I will never shop in the store or online again. Don’t believe a word from customer because no one will call you back!

Bed Bath and Beyond hasn't been the same for many, many years now. I don't know who bought them out, maybe some third party from China, but their service is now beyond bad. Most recently I placed an order around the holidays (I hate to order from them now, but they were the only ones who carried this discontinued item so I caved.) Waited 3+ weeks for shipping...only to be sent a random "sorry, we could not fulfill your order" order cancellation email with no explanation. Congratulations Bed Bath and Beyond, you continue to suck.

Poor customer service tactics

I purchased merchandise online and they had a third party listed as the vendor. When I tried to return the item, the phone number to the 3rd party company, Entrotek, was disconnected. I got stuck with the merchandise because I was unable to return it. Shame on them for this scam. This is so fraudulent.

They've put my health in jeopardy.

I ordered supplements that are part of a treatment protocol for a serious medical condition. They sent the wrong items. I sent them back for a replacement and they sent the same wrong items. I intended to send them back for a refund only this time, I assume because it was a second attempt, the site wouldn't allow it. I'm unable to use the phone, their chat doesn't work and the only email address I found for them comes back unmonitored. Now, I'm out the meds and no funds to replace them.

Purchased item never shipped; terrible customer service

I bought an item advertised on their website as a Black Friday promotion. The item never shipped and I was never notified of a problem until I inquired, at which time I was told the item is no longer available. Because I had ordered this item, I lost the opportunity to take advantage of a promotion for a similar item on another website. The customer service agent I chatted with couldn't care less and did nothing to try to help with my situation.

Horrible

Horrible! Ordered a Black Friday Christmas decor, no confirmation of order, nothing, however my cc was charged. Had a delivery date when ordered, it has come and gone, called CS twice, told different stories each time, latest is the vendor does not have the materials to make!! Unbelievable, no wonder they are approaching bankruptcy!! Done with BBB!!!!

If i could give a ZERO star i would!! Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service! I ordered a personalized robe and within minutes i entered to modify my order and was advised to cancel the order and start over. I had one half hour to do so. I called within 10 minutes and the operator said sorry we are unable to cancel your order as it has already been shipped! Wow! You lost yourself a client BB&B

I never signed up for promotional emails

They canceled my order without letting me know. I have gotten rid of some necessary items pending delivery, after spending 3 hours looking for these items. Unsurprisingly they began spamming be everyday with marketing emails. I never signed up for promotional emails...it may seem like a small inconvenience but with the FCC allowing companies to spam you, sometimes three times a day I've had thousands of spam every year, it takes me 1-2 hours a month to delete them. That's 24 hours a year. It got to the point where I have to change emails every year. They've preciously provided very poor service.

Online store charges you but apparently won't take orders

Tried to order an item today online (using Firefox browser), went all the way through the order process up to and including payment, and *poof* the site comes back with "Experienced internal server. Please try back order again sometime." (Those are the exact, broken English phrases used!) Immediately received a message from my bank that an authorization hold came through... but BBB didn't take the order. Since it's Christmas shopping time and I needed this item for a gift, I waited 1 hour and tried using the Microsoft Edge browser, and instead of using a credit card, used PayPal option instead. Same exact experience: went all the way through the order process, pressed Place Order, and failure with the same broken-English error message (without using the actual word "error"... hilarious). And a PayPal message that BBB has made a charge. Tried their chat... worthless. Called (their Philippine phone center), was in the middle of the call when the rep pushed the wrong button and I went to a recorded "satisfaction survey." Called back, and was told they can't see orders until several days later (used to be 1/2 hour, but the rep said it now takes days, and that my authorization holds (if that's all they are) will disappear before he would be able to see any order. The web site is a joke, broken and charges up your cards apparently for no order. Or I've got multiple orders going now... who knows? Not Bed, Bath & Beyond, that's for damn sure.

Looked like vomit on broken glass!!…

I last week ordered 48 jars of Beechnut babyfood meat for my senior dog. I had previously ordered 30 jars and was pleased as the order arrived quickly and was well-packaged for shipping. NOT THIS TIME!!!! I really couldn't believe what I received! 48 baby food small jars thrown into box with no packing materials. You can imagine what I received!! It honestly looked like someone had vomited on a box full of broken glass and product labels! I spent two hours cleaning up the horrible mess and got madder with each little jar I cleaned!! WHO in their right mind would send via FED EX such a ridiculous mess? Amazingly, only 6 jars broke, but it was a hideous mess. Four more jars had broken seals, thereby unusable. And ONE JAR escaped all spilled product and the seal remained tight.

I purchased 10 chairs from Bed Bath and…

I purchased 10 chairs from Bed Bath and Beyond. Within 4 months the chairs rusted out and stained my pool deck. I called BB&B and was told after an hour on the phone sorry our policy is 30 days. Please read out return exchange policy. Then was told you can call the vendor because they have a 2 yr warranty. I called the vendor they sent me back to BB&B. It's been back and forth and no help. How do you sell a product that rust in 4 months and refuses to replace it?

I am so disappointed with BB&B customer…

I am so disappointed with BB&B customer service and I’m also disappointed in myself for not acting faster. Just over 2 months ago I purchased an expensive Cuisinart multi function oven. It had problems immediately, and tried to contact Bbb and Cuisinart to no avail. I started a return ticket but didn’t get around to hauling the unit to a store. I continued to use it and today the unit caught fire. It was a small flame, I unplugged and it burned itself out - thank goodness I was standing right there when it happened. Anyhow, BBB will not take back the unit because it is just aft the 60 day return period even though it is a defective unit. There is much more to this story- the problems early on were unexpected- I have text string and FB posts from right when I got the unit. I’m shocked that such a good brand could put out such a lemon and shame on BBB for not standing by its products.

Online Shopping with BBB is Hopeless

As many others have said, the online experience is awful. A lot of functions wouldn't work from my phone, and from a computer it's not much better. Many of the items aren't available at all, although listed, and trying to actually use any of the coupons they sent me from one earlier purchase (which had been ok) was impossible (confusing, wouldn't work when I tried to apply one). The website was really extremely unstable, eventually my entire order disappeared from my basket. Have stopped trying to purchase from BBB. For the record, had been trying to purchase kitchen storage items. Giving this review 2 stars only because an earlier order of shampoo and conditioner actually worked ok.

What a horrible company to deal with

What a horrible company to deal with. No wonder they are having financial troubles. Ordered a sheet set, got a shipping notification and tracking number and ended up receiving drape panels. They told me the sheets were out of stock despite taking my order and sending me shipping/tracking info. Very difficult navigating their 'voice guided' customer care phone line. Getting a refund and dumping these chumps.

BBB scamming people with 3rd party sellers!

BBB is scamming people with it's 3rd party sellers! They deceive customers by letting them know AFTER they have made a purchase that they cannot return 3rd party items to the store and that a free return label will be included from the seller for hassle free returns. Not true at all. I never received any return shipping labels. I contacted BBB and they are making me deal with the sellers directly. I've received very sketchy emails from the sellers with no return labels attached and then they just ghost you completely! Now I have to dispute with my CC company. No wonder BBB is going out of business!

Bed Bath and Beyond's Wedding Registry Scam

Just a few months pre-COVID, before massive supply chain issues, I purchased a gift through the registry for my cousin's wedding. A couple of weeks ago I was looking for her contact info by searching old emails and I found a shipping email from BB&B. On a whim, I clicked the tracking. I was shocked to find: Carrier Awaiting Shipment. I thought this must be a glitch. There was also a "delivered" email, but I had a bad feeling, so I clicked the customer service chat. I was told that the item had been out of stock and never arrived! So my cousin never got the gift and there were no emails or anything to let me know. I was mortified. They also told me I was never charged because the order didn't go through. That seemed confusing. I was never informed that the payment didn't go through AND I got the shipped and delivered emails. I checked the credit card I would likely have used and didn't see anything on the card, but I chatted again to make sure. I was also requesting that they reach out to my cousin because I felt awful and I wanted her to know that there really was a present, but they wouldn't do that. Just: "Sorry for the inconvenience." The second chat I was again told my "credit card" wasn't charged. I still felt there was something else they should or could be doing, and reached out through Facebook messenger. This time they got back to me after doing "research" and said that they couldn't get authorization from my credit card so it was never charged. Nothing about the item being out of stock. A different story and one that seemed to put the blame on me for not checking charges on my credit card. No explanation for the two emails -- "shipped" and "delivered." They offered me a $65 credit which I thought was weird, but I said sure. I was using the credit to get toys for my cousin's now 1 year old son. I looked at my account and was able to find the receipt for the wedding purchase. I hadn't used a credit card. I used PayPal. It was on the receipt. I went through old PayPal records and found that the money had in fact been taken out of my account. So they had taken my money, and sent me a shipped email and a delivery email and the items had never been shipped or delivered. I wrote them back. I haven't heard anything. Here's the thing, I don't believe that this is just me. I think this is a scam they have been running for years. Think about it: How many times when you buy a gift through a registry and it is being delivered to the recipient's home, do you actually check that it got there? Maybe you get a thank you from the recipient, but if you don't do you pursue it? Do you ask: Did you get my gift? I think Bed Bath and Beyond doesn't deliver a certain of the gifts. They wait for people to check. A certain percentage never checks. They keep the money. It's the perfect crime. Steal a million from one person and you'll get caught, steal an average of $150 from 10,000 people who won't check, and that's enough to float a dying retail legacy retailer for another year. Do not register with them. Do not buy from their registry. Find the same product elsewhere and let the bride/mom/etc know why.

How do I cancel an online order?

You have to go through the company's customer service and ask them to cancel the order. Most companies should be able to do it at this stage. Otherwise, you might be able to have your credit card issuer block the purchase, but that usually costs a fee and is probably not worth it.
