How to walk and play with Chop in GTA 5:

Step 1: Take control of Franklin and make sure the mission ‘Chop’ is complete.

Step 2: Go to Chop’s Kennel.

Step 3: Disarm yourself(switch to fists).

Step 4: Aim at Chop and press the attack/fire button.

Step 5: Chop will now follow you wherever you go and even ride with you in cars. Aim at chop and fire again while disarmed to send him back.

Focus on the dog with LT then RB to send him home, and did you know he can also get in cars with you too so you can take him on missions, at least I think he can go on missions.

I think that might either be context sensitive, would be weird to go do a heist with a dog, or he just magically disappears.

I took him for a walk once but ever since then it appears I can't interact with him anymore. What do I press when near him to have him follow me?

You have to be unarmed then press LB.

Chop is the name of Lamar's Rottweiler dog in Grand Theft Auto 5. Lamar is good friends with Franklin (one of the main protagonists) and from all the news, information (and leaks) to date it seems that Chop will spend a large amount of time with Franklin. We also know for sure that you'll be able to control Chop with the following command list having made it's way onto the internet:
