We talked about efficiency again and again but why is this important? Notice that pesky single hair that’s so hard to remove when you shave? The Series 9’s improved HyperLift system makes sure this doesn’t happen to you. It promises to improve your shaving experience by lifting awkwardly positioned hair to cut them easily.
Most Series 9 models have four shaving elements, while Series 7 models only have three. This makes the cutting performance different for both series. The Series 9 is also built to adjust to extremely sensitive skin—and in my opinion, that alone makes the Series 9 worth the price! My skin can get quite sensitive around the neck, and the Series 9 has never left me with a rash or redness.

What makes the Series 9 better is that it removed the speed function (the personalized modes) that was present in Series 7. According to the company (and to a lot of users), the personalized modes proved unnecessary and a little inconvenient especially when it requires the user to stop mid-use. This was changed when the Series 9 was released without the speed function and was instead replaced with the SyncroSonic Technology which allows the device to automatically adjust its speed and power according to the density of hair it detects. Definitely more convenient!
The change in design is something that I appreciate about Series 9 models compared to the Series 7 ones. While the Series 7 designs weren’t really a problem themselves, I appreciated a sleek and sophisticated looking shaver fit for a gentleman. The Series 9 models were also a little bigger compared to Series 7, which makes the grip a little better. And even with its added size, the weight remains the same (or there’s no significant change to the weight at all, given its added functions). The Similarities: Braun Series 9 vs 7The Series 7 and the Series 9 do have a lot of similarities—they are both made by Braun, after all! Let’s find out what makes this line of shavers so great.
While there are clear differences between both Series 7 and 9, there are also similarities that unite both Series and uphold the brand. Improvements to the products themselves only make it more functional and beneficial to people with sensitive skin.
Even with the cited differences that set the models under each series apart, both series under the brand are undeniably functional when it comes to removing thick hair. Four cutting elements (or three) just guarantees that dense hair is removed in one sweep of the shaver. This can also be achieved under the Series 7’s manual speed options or the Series 9’s automatic speed function.
Despite the difference in the number of directions the shaver’s heads can move to, products under both series arguably have more flexibility compared to other brands. Eight or ten directions are an insane amount of movements that one shaver can do. And it even does it safely! This is exponentially better compared to regular razors or even ordinary shaver available out there on the market.
Models of both series are made in Germany. While this is not a guarantee of quality in and of itself, Germany prides itself on manufacturing only the most durable and high-quality products on the market. It has strict quality control regulation which makes it hard for bad products to be exported out of the country. Both series undergo similar quality control to ensure that users only get the best of the best.
While models under each series are priced differently (and often according to function), the prices are found to be reasonable and fair under market standards. They are not as expensive as their competitors that offer the same level of quality and experience. And they have also options for those buying cheap. The prices are also reasonable given the quality of the products offered. Is An Upgrade Necessary?A lot of the reviews I’ve read pointed out how they were already satisfied with the level of quality that the Series 7 had. Which makes sense! The Series 7 is durable, extremely functional, and affordable. Most people who own a Series 7 are actually satisfied with their purchase, so is an upgrade is necessary? I would personally argue: Yes, yes it is! The Series 9 provides a level of comfort that the Series 7 simply lacks. I have very sensitive skin, and electric shavers often leave me irritated and itchy. But the Series 9 is different! It always leaves my skin feeling cared for, and never leaves me sore. The Series 9 models just cut more efficiently. They also leave a better after-shave feeling, and they’re easier to grip. Although some models are more expensive than the Series 7, the price is definitely worth it. ConclusionAfter all the reviews and comparisons, I have come to the conclusion that the Series 9 will just give you a lot more bang for your buck! The Series 9 models offer a sense of power, precision, and flexibility that the Series 7 doesn’t quite match. The Series 9 9290cc is my personal favorite, and it might actually be my favorite shaver of all time! That’s not to say that the Series 7 is bad though—quite the contrary! I would argue that the Series 7 is the second-best shaver series of all time, right behind its younger brother. Series 7 shavers are often a lot cheaper than the 9s, and considering the level of performance that they offer, they can be an equally great purchase!
