Is Mugen train on Crunchyroll free?

Crunchyroll is proud to announce that they have acquired the rights to stream Demon Slayer: Mugen Train from Funimation. In fact, starting now on October 4, 2021; you can actually watch the anime film on Crunchyroll here. The film is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese dubs and subtitles. French and Russian dubs and subs will come later, although they don’t mention how long later. Unfortunately, as of this writing, the film is only for premium Crunchyroll subscribers. Presumably, they will eventually make the film available to free subscribers, although they don’t say when. For now though, if you want to watch, you have to pay up.

Demon Slayer: More Details

In other news, Crunchyroll would like to remind us that they are still streaming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba here. This time, it’s actually free on their streaming platform. At least, for the Japanese audio with English subtitles. Everything else, including the Spanish and Portuguese dubs, required the premium subscription to access.

This includes the English dub version of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Crunchyroll managed to acquire from Funimation just now. Unfortunately, that also requires a paid subscription to access, and unfortunately, this is something we don’t know if Crunchyroll will make free. I guess we’ll just hope that Crunchyroll will make the English dub free at some point. Or just cough up the cash for that paid subscription. It’s your money, I suppose.

Conclusion

Good news: Crunchyroll managed to acquire Demon Slayer: Mugen Train from Funimation to steam on their own streaming platform. Bad news: you still need a paid Crunchyroll subscription to watch this hit anime film as of this writing, so you have to wait a bit to watch it for free. Other news: Crunchyroll also acquired the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba English dub, but you also need a paid subscription to watch. Let’s hope that’s free later as well.
