Items not allowed in hand carry Cebu Pacific 2022

Cebu Pacific has updated their 1 hand carry policy. By March 1, 2022, passengers will be allowed not only 1 hand carry baggage but others luggage if they fit in a certain criteria.

Cebu Pacific has made a strict 1 hand carry baggage policy in the past. Their reasoning is that it was made as such as to have a smoother check in and flight experience for its passengers. But there are many customer feedback about this policy, and surely, the leading budget airline company here in the Philippines listened. Thanks a lot CePac!!

Aside from the 1 hand baggage that you are allowed to carry with you inside the plane ( considering it passes the limited allowed dimensions, plus will not excess 7 kilos), passengers are now allow to carry these extra bags or items with them:

Items not allowed in hand carry Cebu Pacific 2022
  • Extra bag for parents/guardians travelling with children;
  • Medical-related needs of passengers such as walking sticks, crutches, prosthetic devices, personal wheel chair;
  • Items purchased inside the airport. Proof of receipt is required to be presented to the counter agent.
  • Gadgets or food item that cannot be accepted for check-in
  • Small bag that can fit under the seat.

Now, less hassle nang mag travel lalo na sa mga parents na need magdala ng mga gamit ng mga babies like diapers, milk, toys and such. Pabor din to sa mga mahihilig maguwi ng pasalubong for pwede ipasok sa plane mga napamili sa airport or bring an extra bag with you inside the plane provided that it can fit under your seat.

IMPORTANT REMINDER sa mga mahilig mag dala ng mga extra gamit but ayaw mga prepaid check in baggage service:

Guests who do not comply with the policy will be charged with a gate baggage fee of P1,000 per person for domestic flights. In the coming months, the airline will also begin charging for its international flights – P 1,500 for short haul and P3,000 for long haul.

Thanks so much Cebu Pacific for giving extra baggage allowance to your passengers. Laking tulong to sa aming mga suki nyo!!

Items not allowed in hand carry Cebu Pacific 2022

The rules and guidelines among airlines when it comes to allowed and not allowed items inside hand carry bags and check-in bags are similar since airlines and passengers has to comply with the airport rules.

The baggage guidelines for domestics are also similar with the guidelines for international flights. *International flights may be stricter though when it comes to imposing the rules.

These insights and tips are based on our understanding of the Cebu Pacific, Air Asia, Philippine Airlines rule on hand carry bag and check-in bag plus from our personal experience on flights. If you want something to be clarified, we encourage you to check directly with the airline by calling the hotline, contacting them on social media, or visiting a ticketing branch. All your baggage questions will be answered by their competent customer service staff.

Hand Carry Bag 7 Kilos Allowance

Airlines gives its passengers complimentary handcarry bag allowance of 7 Kilos. The backpack, duffel bag, trolley bag, hard or soft luggage, etc must fit inside the cabin’s overhead bin. The passenger is also allowed to bring-in a small bag like shoulder bag, belt bag, etc aside from the carry-on bag. Laptop bag with a laptop inside it is usually given a free-pass, meaning, hindi sinasama sa kikiluhin. But if matimingan kayo ng strict na check-in counter staff, baka ikilo din. Laptops, cameras, tablets, gadgets like these are for hand-carry, hindi puede sa check-in baka madanganan dun or worst, mawala sa bagahe mahal pa naman na items ang mga yan.

There is also a baggage size limitation on Cebu Pacific, PAL, Air Asia. If your bag is HUGE, exceeds the size-limit set by the airline even if the weigh does not exceed 7 kilos, it will not be accepted as hand-carry. The bag or luggage must fit in the overhead bin! Most of the luggage and suitcases for sale in the malls, the smallest size are perfect as hand-carry.

Can We Bring Food and Take-Outs as Hand Carry?

Can you bring food example a Jollibee take-out on your domestic or international flight, say it’s your pasalubong to a friend who will fetch you at the airport? Yes, you can bring it as hand-carry. Bring as hand-carry JCO, Krispy Kreme, Cakes, dried mangoes, etc. – these items will form part of the 7-kgs of handcarry bag allowance. But if you are bringing a whole lechon, you need to check-it in. Frozen lechon packs like 1 kilo, 3 kilos, 5 kilos etc, are allowed as hand carry.

This is for all airlines, not only Cebu Pacific, a lot of those coming from Cebu likes to bring dried fish like danggit so some are asking if airlines allow dried fish on the hand carry baggage. Those who are coming from Davao, ask about bringing durian and marang. From what we understood, the guideline is that you can bring in food and fruits as hand-carry as long as there is no strong foul smell coming from the goods. The item is very well-packed that no odor can escape. Personally, we make it a point to double-packed and vacuum-sealed our danggit and pusit when we bring it as hand-carry. If you have a plastic container it’s better so you put the goods in and can seal properly.

However, take note that some airline staff are strict, some are lenient. Some will not totally accept durian fruit as hand-carry. But we think a good rule of thumb is to bring in food/fruits but make sure no smell will emit from it. Be considerate of other passengers and flight crew, the cabin is close-off, imagine if you are bringing an unproperly-packed food with foul odor, ang daming mapeperwisyo and your goods may be confiscated by the flight attendant.

LIQUID LIMIT RULES

When it comes to liquids for hand-carry, the cebu pacific rules, which is also applicable to other airlines is that passengers may bring in liquids provided the container is 100 ml or less. Liquids like shampoo, perfumes, lotion, body wash, moisturizers, etc, are allowed provided the bottles or containers does not exceed 100 ml. If the bottle is a 250 ml yet the content is 50 ml, this will still be confiscated at the final x-ray area. You cannot argue about this, this is airport rule. All airline and passengers needs to comply.

EXCEPTION: Infant formula or baby milk is exempted from the 100 ml liquid per bottle rules. Liquid medicines exceeding 100 ml are allowed provided you can present a valid medical prescription and med certificate. Walang reseta baka kumpiskahin ang gamot.

Each passenger is allowed 10 pieces of 100-ml bottles. Hindi din allowed ang say 15 pieces of perfumes na tig-100 ml each. Puedeng makalusot especially if hindi strikto ang magche-check but we recommend that the airport rules be followed at all times.

On a side-story: At one of our trips coming from Hong Kong, our companion brought in a 500 ml peanut butter on the hand carry bag, the HK airport official confiscated it, it’s considered as liquid.

If you want to bring your big bottles of creams and liquids, make sure to check them in and make sure these liquids are allowed. See the list of prohibited items not allowed on hand-carry and check-in bag for further reference.

OTHER ITEMS

About tripods, monopods, selfie sticks – these are now allowed for hand carry as well as check-in, this is after DOTr updated the baggage rules as of July 2019. Some airline however imposes that tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are allowed on hand-carry provided they are not open and use while you are inside the airplane. However, the reality on the ground is that we see vloggers and tourists using selfie sticks during flight at di sinisita, so we think upon discretion nalang ng cabin crew eto. But to be safe, we recommend that you put your tripod inside your check-in bag.

Umbrella – the big or large umbrellas are for check-in. The folding umbrellas are okay for domestic and international flights. *We only tested this on a 3-times folding umbrella.

Wines and Alcohol – This is allowed for check-in baggages provided that the liquor, wine, alcohol bottles will not exceed 5 liters.

Canned Goods like corned beef, luncheon meat, sardines, etc are not allowed for hand-carry, they are allowed for check-in.

Powerbanks  are allowed in hand-carry but not allowed in check-in.

e-Cigarettes are allowed in hand-carry but not allowed in check-in.

Pets are not allowed for hand-carry and check-in. Pets must be transported as cargo. This comes with special permit, secure it via the airline.

Bladed and sharp items like knives, scissors, nippers, etc. are allowed for check-in but not for handcarry. *Do not bring knives, balisong even if it’s just a souvenir in international flights!!!
