Trying to see what may work better to get a little lift. Got a lead on 18/59 and 18/60 springs. I have 14/56 right now in my 2013. I like the rake and prefer to keep it. Will the 18/59 still keep a slight rake? Will 18/60 give too much rake? Will the 60 rears be too harsh of a ride?

By the way, did a little searching and couldn't find spefically which is better.

Thanks in advance!

18/59 is common for the JKU with hard top and tow package, and we clearly see the rake that it results in. So 18/60 is going to be more of a rake. Maybe not as noticeable on a shorter 2 door? I don't know.

I think 60 will be a harsh ride.

I also think you'll be limited by other factors if you only upgrade springs. You're going to get like 2.5".

I bet someone will post pics.

You'll keep the rake. I just swapped springs from 13/55 to 18/59, had to add the TF leveling spacers to even everything out.
So you want to keep the rack huh? That's new.

wondering what qualitative handling/ride changes you notice with this set up compared to OEM?

Slight rake like oem is ok for me. If it goes more and looks too crazy, I'll most probably add a 3/4" spacer in front to even it out.

I went from 14/55 to 18/58 on my JK and it leveled the front end.

I just purchased a TF 2.5" kit, so I'll be putting my 18/58s in the "For Sale" forum soon along with my rubi shocks. I also have another spare set of 59s' I'll include.

I went from 14/55's on my sport to 19/60's last spring w/ rubi take-off shocks. Gained 1.5" in front and 1.0 in the rear before the 17" tire wheel install. The stance seems the same to me, just a little higher. Everything worked out great, no drivability issues at all. Rides much better with the Rubi Shocks

Sorry for the bad angle on the before pic. I wasn't thinking about a comparison shot when I took it.

Ok....ended up getting 18/59. If the rake is too great, I'll add a 3/4" spacer to level things out.

Thanks for the help. Jeep look great!

Rubicon shocks were also installed at the same time. Shot from same distance, just a slight change in angle of camera.

Thanks! Went naked with her yesterday(she was naked not me). I'm so happy with my first jeep! The wife thinks I'm nuts  for constantly scanning CL and the For Sale Forums.

I went from 14/56 to 17/57- ride was fine and it took out the rake completely. I still have those 17/57s just in case a local guy needs them (I went full lift). I also tried 18/59s and found they overwhelmed the shocks and were too stiff. However, they brought the rake back slightly. Regardless, I only kept them on maybe for two weeks...too harsh for me (2-door with hardtop).

Mine too. There are too many good deals to pass up though. Great work! Looks good. How do you like it so far? I did the same to mine except added 1" pucks all around.

The rubi 18/60 springs and all 4 Rubi shocks plus these

for another $100.

Hope to find a good deal on a soft top and bumpers.

I'm sure that's all I'll ever need.

Great deals! Are you going Rubi rims and tires or swapping the rims for yours? I always liked those darker "sport" rims that came on the freedom.

My 18/59s are on their way. Once I get them on, I'll report back.

Ya, I'm happy with my thrifty purchases to this point. I thought that the rubi shocks and new springs helped with the ride and gave me the little lift that I was looking for. I think that what else helped with the ride was letting out 6-7 psi out of the tires. They came at 42 psi from the dealer and after I got them down to a reasonable level the ride improved even more.

I really like the darker wheels also. The only thing I don't like about them is the lighter center cap. I don't know why Jeep couldn't get those to match the wheel color. I'm not sure if there's a solution to getting the center caps to match better. I'm up for any suggestions out there.

As for the new wheels and BFG tires, I was planning on putting them on for the Denver winters because of the more aggressive tread on them. I've read here though that they aren't necessarily better in the snow than the Goodyear Wranglers I have on. More research is needed.

Good luck with your spring installation(Are you doing it yourself?). I'd definitely like to see the results.opcorn:

question for all the 2drs. Will the softest jku coils/shocks net a lift for a 2dr?

i'm giving my suspension to a local jeeper friend of mine for free. She'll probably need a front leveling kit which we can attain for cheap.

i just wanna make sure before installing it on her jeep.

I had 14/56 stock on my 2 door and installed 19/60 with 3/4 puck all way around and aimed about 2 3/4 " if that helps
