The brand identity of Johann Haviland was split in three flavors: those items which proprietor Rosenthal really produced in Bavaria, those items made in Japan ("Crowning Fashion" subbrand) and finally those made in Thailand ("Traditions" subbrand).

Johann Haviland's Blue Garland (Bavarian backstamped) is elegantly sculpted, making it easy to see why this pattern has remained immensely popular since its inception. It's perfect as a wedding gift, house warming, or inheritance. In great condition free from chips, cracks, breaks, stains or discoloration, the dinner plates have very small, barely noticeable flatware markings. This 50 Piece for 8 Guests is a 6-piece setting that includes: Eight (8) - Flat Cup 3 1/8 in Eight (8) - Saucer Eight (8) - Dinner Plate 10 in Eight (8) - Salad Plate 7 3/4 in Eight (8) - Bread & Butter Plate 6 1/4 in Eight (8) - Fruit/Dessert (Sauce) Bowl 5 1/2 in One (1) - Covered Vegetable Bowl 7 1/2 in One (1) - Oval Serving Platter 13 in Discontinued, this pattern was sold circa: 1953 - 1990. Made in Bavaria Germany. In 1937 the Johann Haviland began producing fine china for export to the United States. This dinnerware was marked "Johann Haviland, Bavaria, Germany." In the 1970´s and 1980´s Johann Haviland China was made at the Waldershof, Germany factory until the late 1980's.
