Kailh box red vs Gateron red

not going to really matter, all of the cherry clones in a given class will be about the same.

Gateron box reds and gateron reds are much better than cherry switches imo, cherry reds are super scratchy compared to gaterons and box reds, also I wouldn't consider box reds as cherry clones, as kailh's box platform is quite different from cherry mx, only thing the 2 share are the pin arrangements and mount.

Not all cherry clones are the same, take for example, ttc reds and tealios, both are linear cherry mx clones, the tealios are a lot smoother than mx red (not a high bar to beat tho) while the ttcs are scratchy.

Are Kailh box Reds good?

The Kailh Silent Box Red switches bring another quiet option to the clacky world of mechanical keyboards. Their sound profile is soft and silent and rivals Cherry's MX Red Silent switches. Plus, they're built for durability and are easy to actuate repeatedly and quickly, which comes in handy for gaming.

Is Gateron red better than cherry red?

Cherry Red VS Gateron Red Cherry red and Gateron red both have the same actuation force, travel, and distinct feel. In general, Gateron red feels lighter and smoother than the Cherry red, though they are more comfortable to use.

Are Kailh Reds better than cherry?

The Kailh red switches, which are the equivalent of the Cherry Red switches, are the basic linear switch choice. The Kailh reds are a bit stiffer and as mentioned before a bit scratchier but overall offer the same basic linear feel.

Is Kailh box better than cherry?

As far as the Cherry clones from Kailh, they are not the best. They tend to feel scratchy and are inferior to both Gateron and Cherry MX. If you're looking for a basic switch such as a Red, Brown, or Blue, I would recommend staying away from Kailh switches and going for a Gateron or Outemu switch instead.
