I first bought this product from SANSUN in 2016. The original design was sightly different. They lasted for 3 years on a 18hr a day cycle. This new design is even brighter and more intense than the original. SANSUN also corrected a shipping mishap by replacing broken items with new ones. They were easy to talk to and very understanding. SANSUN also does custom orders. If you have a request, they can do it!

I noticed a lot of the reviews for this product are for a light bulb and not the panel, I bought it anyway, it feels very plastic but that said it arrived with all the parts it said it would and has functioned well, I have three African violets that are provided light by this panel alone for over a month and they have continued to grow with nice healthy green leaves, overall I am very happy with it.

I have no other grow lights to compare these to, but they do seem to be working for my seedlings. The plants are healthy and growing well under the light and I don't see any plants growing tall and skinny trying to get more light. The lights themselves feel very light weight, but they are LED's after all. The construction is fine and the light weight means I can mount them almost anywhere. Good Product.

Yes, they work. When I turned them on they didn't look very bright and didn't look as though they would work. Some folks have put light meters under them and say they don't register enough light. But my young seedlings are growing just fine, not leggy, so long as they're close to the lights, which is going to be true of any artificial lighting system. With several of these units and an inexpensive 3-shelf free-standing "greenhouse" I've assembled a grow-light system at a fraction of the cost of those expensive "grow carts." Since they're LED lights, they hardly made a dent in the electric bill. I'll be adding a few more to my system to increase the number of seedlings I can start at once.

just started using on plants,so far looks good so far plants are full and growing great,I keep the 2 lights about one and a half foot above the plants as if closer the tops get a brownish tint to them other that that I recomend these lights as they are at a good price and keeps my electric bill down compaired to the lights I was using

This is my second 450 watt lamp of this general appearance. However, next to my other one it was very noticeably dimmer than the other. Using both lamps side by side about nine inches above the seedlings, my cheap gardeners’ meter read more than twice as much light from my older one. I also did not realize that this lamp’s constant current power unit was built into the lamp head, so all the heat is dissipated from above the seedlings instead of partly from a power unit that can be offset to one side where it won’t overheat the seedlings.

Has improved the health of the plants under it, that were previously under just one of a pair of 32W fluorescent tubes after their ballast failed. Its coverage pattern isn't great for plant shelves unless you plan for the greater distance from the outset. We may add another one to make up for that as we add more plants.

I bought two of these LED grow lights for some of my tropical container plants that don't like temperatures below 40F, I lost a few plants after we experienced a freeze in South Texas. I have since placed plants indoors on a plant shelf and use these to keep them growing and healthy. Plants are responding favorably and shooting of new growth rapidly. Seems to be working great. I wish it had a few full spectrum LED 2-5 as the red/blue color removes the vibrancy when under the lamp. These are small and portable and easy to secure, exactly what I needed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, not worth the money, came broken and bad customer service

Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on February 19, 2021

We received our Grow light in time and when we opened the package we saw that the power socket was coming out of the light. We contacted the Seller and their response was to just push it back in. Very disappointing since this advice could lead to electrical damage and safety issues!! Also the lumen is sure not what is advertised, very dark and certainly doesn't light the area advertised. Might be good if you want to start a couple seeds, but certainly won't sufficiently cover 2 seed trays at the required height for the seed so they do grow dense and strong. I wouldn't recommend spending the money at all. Better spent a little more and get a more thought after light.

Bought 1 and is working very well.
So I went and bought again but it doesn't work
Same story for the 3rd one

Good thing it's easy to return them. I wouldn't buy it again.
Either it is too fragile or unreliable
In all cases, I will not buy again

Can I use any blue and red LED light to grow plants?

So broad spectrum light is not only more pleasing to the eye, but also makes it easier to work and assess plant health. So, while you can use a red/blue LED in sole source applications, with human health and plant scouting being affected, we highly recommend using a broad spectrum LED.

What do red and blue LED lights do for plants?

Red radiation (around 700nm) is considered most efficient at driving photosynthesis – especially in the flowering stage for biomass growth (important to Cannabis growers). Blue light is essential for both the vegetative and flowering stages of plant growth, but mainly for establishing vegetative and structural growth.

Why does red and blue light make plants grow faster?

Red light is necessary for seed germination, root growing. 600-700 nm wavelength range red light is used to support the development of a plant and improving the taste of fruit. Blue light provides chlorophyll production (the most active pigment for photosynthesis) in plants.

What are red and blue lights good for?

Plants that receive plenty of blue light will have strong, healthy stems and leaves. Red light is responsible for making plants flower and produce fruit. It's also essential to a plant's early life for seed germination, root growth, and bulb development.
