Mario Party 8 usb loader GX black screen

So, I've been searching and reading for hours, and the only thing I can even find related to this game was the freezing on startup problem everyone was having when it first came out. Anyways, I want to play ranked games, which you do by selecting Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection at the main menu of the game. So I connect to that, and it does so just fine. I can even view the leaderboards. But when I go try and play a game, no matter what kind I select (i.e. Quick Play>Deathmatch or Serious Worms>Tactics, all it does is say "Searching for games. . . . ." and it has a little searching animation in the dotdotdots and everything. It just keeps doing that, forever, until I die and turn into ashes, rise from them, hatch from my egg until I am again a grown man sitting in my chair waiting to shoot somebody's worm in the face while hanging from a ninja rope. It doesn't freeze or anything, I can exit the searching for games thing if i want to, and disconnect from the wi-fi. So, if anybody thinks they have a solution for this problem, please share it! Thank you very much in advance.

I'm having a problem loading games that should use ios 249.

I'm new to the small details of soft modding a Wii but I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly. I used mauifrog's Softmod Any Wii guide and followed it exactly but every time I try to play a game from my HDD that should run with ios 249 I get a black screen. It seems the game still loads but with no video. This includes games like New Super Mario Bros., Mario Party 9, and LOZ: Skyward Sword. I tried reinstalling all my ios but to no avail. I tried loading all the games with both USB Loader GX and Wiiflow. Other games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl work fine. Here's my syscheck.

Alright...so ive been messing around and decided to try making a backup of my ToS disk because i knew it was gonna break sooner or later. and family came over...stepped on my pecious disk...made me cry :'(
But the problem is that i cant get it to run on NeoGamma R9. I can get it to run fine on the past launchers but ive just recently finished the game. Now i wanted to load it on R9 so i can use a few hacks (mostly so i dont have to farm for grade...AGAIN -_-) but each time i try to run it i get a black screen after the GC Backup Launcher runs. Ive tried changing the settings but that didnt work. I run on NeoGamma R9 b56, cIOS57rev20 (249). Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated at this point. :D

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to run Xenoblade from a USB stick but it keeps freezing at official load times and during the opening cut scene. It boots up normally but when I go to start a new game, it takes at least 5 minutes for the opening scene to start. During random times of the opening scene, the game freezes. I'm somewhat illiterate when it comes to this stuff so please try and throw me a bone. Could it be because I'm running it from a flash drive?

I'm using Configure USB Loader, and i used the "Joystiq- How to play Xenoblade Chronicles if you live in North America", so I'm using IOS 248. I ran a syscheck, and it seems that IOS 249 is stubbed, but since I'm not using it to boot Xenoblade, I'm guessing it doesn't matter. Nonetheless, I tried recopying the meta file but it still registers as stubbed, but again, I'm guessing it doesn't matter because I'm using 248.

Can anyone shed some light on this? What settings were used in CFG on the actual game to get it to work? Forcing NTSC? Switching the language to English? Tried these things and it still didn't work. Any other settings I should adjust?

Thanks!

When I load The Munchables from USB or from Backup Disc, I get a black screen. I just followed through the current version of Mauifrog's Softmod ANY Wii Guide in an effort to fix this (Chapters 2 and 3 - I met the requirements to skip Chapter 1), but it still happens. What can I do to troubleshoot this problem and get this game working?! I'll be glad to read through any threads you care to point me to if there is more I should do myself before asking for help. Thanks in advance for any constructive input.

I cannot figure out for the life of me what the HECK I'm doing wrong. First of all, yes, I do own Mario Party 7, but the disc is scratched, and I can't really play my original disc anymore. That's why I'm going nuts trying to play my game via backup disc or usb right now! Aside from Donkey Kong Country Returns, this is the only other game I've ever had to try and play a back up of, and Donkey Kong Country Returns worked fine.

Since I can't play my original disc of Mario Party 7 (well, I can play it...but it gives me errors all the time because it's scratched), I'm trying to play it with a backup disc or load it via USB. I've been following all the guides on here, but nothing seems to be working for me. I've tried playing the game via Neogamma, USB GX, and CFG USB loader.

Here's what happening with each of the three things I've tried:

- Neogamma gives me a green screen, and then restarts the Wii.
- USB GX doesn't show my game (though it could be I don't know how to use USB GX). However, the USB stick does show up in the settings menu while I was poking around, so I know it's formatted okay. Is there something I'm suppose to be doing to get my game on the USB to show up?
- CFB USB loader says I have to install a custom 248 IOS or something?

If anyone can help me get Mario Party 7 working, I would love you forever! Please help me!

Hi there. I have recently soft modded my Wii. Everything seems to be fine, except when I try to load games from my usb stick in CFG Loader (or any other loader really). Most games just give me a black screen and the controller completely disconnects. Sometimes it does go through to the Wii safety screen but after that the same happens. I've been searching everywhere and can't figure it out so I thought I'd ask here about it.

Here is my system check, so hopefully you guys can help me :)

Thanks

So I finally got my wii soft-modded and started playing my backups of Monster Hunter Tri and Xenoblade (Both work perfect, FYI) and decided to get some games for my roommates to play. One requested SW3 and so I found it and loaded it up and it wouldn't work. Odd. So using WiiFlow (My preferred choice), I went to go tweak with the ios options and found the version I had didn't have that feature. So I downgraded to a different WiiFlow that did. Then when I went through all the options and it still didn't work, I decided to downgrade again. After four versions more, I gave up with WiiFlow and gave Configurable a shot. Still no luck. If I do get it to play and not go back to the Wii Home Menu, it goes to the memory screen (No saves yet of course) and I pick the top slot, then it says it'll overwrite anything in that slot since I want to start a new game, I choose yes and then it goes black. Even the wiimote powers down. I have to hard reset to get it back everytime. I'd love to experience this game so any and all help is appreciated. I have the most up to date HBC and I'm not sure of my other stats at the moment but I don't know if y'all need them. If so just ask.

What format do games need to be in for USB Loader GX?

The Wii Homebrew Applications (such as The Homebrew Channel, Emulators, Games, Media players, etc.), USB Loader GX's NAND emulation feature and DIOS MIOS (Lite) require a FAT32 partition format.

How do I get USB Loader GX to read a flash drive?

Instructions.
Extract USB Loader GX and put it in the apps folder on your USB drive or SD card..
Insert your USB drive, and SD card if you're using one, into your Wii and launch USB Loader GX from the Homebrew Channel..
