Mt shasta 4th of july 2022

We’re back!

After a two-year hiatus, we’re excited to be getting back together in person on July 4th, 2022 for another edition of Mount Shasta’s annual reunion!

Considering we haven’t held the event since 2019 and that several elements remain challenging, our primary emphasis this year is ensuring we can host a safe and enjoyable event, with a focus on the basics.

The 4th of July Walk/Run event fulfills a role as a primary fundraiser within the community for a variety of youth and community groups, community enhancement projects, and the organization who hosts the event, SORA. Your entry in the event makes everything possible.

The past couple years have been trying—and circumstances this year continue to present challenges—but we’re confident we can relaunch the walk/run on another 40-year streak, with an emphasis on the most important elements: community, health & wellness, and simple fun. Given the hurdles of the moment, however, we’re focusing on ensuring we can hold a successful event for all and have been forced to make some adjustments. You may have heard about issues with the supply chain, particularly if you’ve attempted to purchase a new car lately. Not unsurprisingly, these issues have made it impossible to continue the tradition of giving away a new car as the grand prize in 2022. But we’re lining up some fantastic prizes, including some alternative forms of transportation! Current circumstances have also had an impact on the event pricing and the ability to offer food during the event. You can read more on the details of this year’s necessary adjustments here.

Your participation gives back to our community
