Odyssey of the Seas obstructed balcony

Cruise cabins from 7110 to 7718, of which Inside (categories 2V, 3V, CI - Connecting Interior, all with Virtual Balcony), Balcony staterooms (categories 1C, 4C, CB - Connecting, 1D, 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D, 2F-Studio Balcony) and the rest are Suites in categories J4 - Junior, JS - Grand.

deck plan 7 cabins information: the 6 most-forward located cabins (portside and starboard) have large metal structure balconies (the opening looks like a porthole) which makes the view partially obstructed, but also offers greater privacy. All aft-located interior cabins are above the Two70 (show lounge, upper level) so noise during evening shows could be an issue.

Thanks so much for your beautiful and informative pictures!  That's exactly the kind of information we need.

Thanks, very helpful. Hopefully we'll begin seeing more pics like these as more people sail on Odyssey.

I have 6560 booked on Anthem for next September and chose it on the basis of photos previously posted here on cc. I looked for it for our Odyssey cruise in May but it sleeps 3 on Oddysey so wasn't an option at the time I booked.

I think the price difference makes these rooms a good choice for people like me who don't really spend a lot of time on the balcony but even so you still want to get one that has as little obstruction as possible so theads like this are a great help.

What is an obstructed view balcony on Odyssey of the Seas?

For decades cruise ships have had oceanview and balcony cabins in places where ship equipment or superstructure ends up blocking the view. The obstruction could be a lifeboat, window washing equipment or structural pieces that are required in various places around a ship.

What does obstructed balcony mean on Royal Caribbean?

An obstruction is something the blocks a proportion of the direct outward view from a stateroom. This is typically due the position of lifeboats or the outer structure of the ship. Please view our deck plans on our website to determine if your stateroom has an obstructed view.

What is an obstructed view balcony?

An obstructed view cabin is a cabin where an item is obstructing the view from either the window or the balcony of the cabin. Obstructions can vary from very slight, to a complete obstruction. Common obstructions include lifeboats, machinery, and pieces of other decks.

What is a fully obstructed balcony on a cruise ship?

A fully or partially obstructed view balcony is a cabin that has some sort of obstruction blocking your view - and the particular item in your way varies by ship and category. It is usually a lifeboat located above, below or directly in front of your cabin.
