 Show Level smoking on balcony of condo 8 years ago All the condo's I see near Pier Park all say that there is no smoking on their property at all. No balcony, not by the pool, not outside on property grounds. Only problem is in my entire group that is going my husband smokes. Never inside but we usually can find somewhere he can smoke on the balcony. My husband has said we just won't go if he can't have a smoking area. Even if he can't smoke on the balcony atleast outside. He doesn't want to have to walk 1/2 mile to be off the property every time he wants to smoke a cigarette. Does anyone know any condos you can smoke on the balcony?
Level 1. Re: smoking on balcony of condo 8 years ago Most condos will ban smoking on the balconies, but unfortunately, people still do it. The problem is that the wind blows the smoke into other units and it's an annoyance. There's nothing worse than sitting on your balcony, eating a meal and smelling someone else's smoke. I think you're going to have a hard time. He'll have to go outside of the building to smoke.
Level 2. Re: smoking on balcony of condo 8 years ago I agree with Kelli S. I don't know of any of the condos that allow this. Some of the smaller hotels/motels allow you to smoke on the balcony. I know the place we stay Driftwood Lodge allows you to smoke on the balcony and by the pool. This property is within walking distance of Pier Park. It's an older motel, but wonderful.
Level 3. Re: smoking on balcony of condo 8 years ago My stepdaughter smokes and we have found several in the past that allow smokers on the balconies. These were rented through VRBO. Try Majestic Beach Towers, Shores of Panama, and Treasure Island. It is not something I like but I understand people do it. Just be sure they don't leave cups of butts out there. That ruins it for anyone else wanting to sit on the balcony.
Level 4. Re: smoking on balcony of condo 8 years ago Not only am I a smoker, but I retired from a cigarette manufacturer. I have never had a problem with smoking on a balcony and was unaware that some places prohibit it. Being that I spent time within the industry, rule #1 is to be courteous and abide by the rules. That being said, be sure to check with the management before renting a place. I always be sure my smoking does not hinder any of my neighbors whether it is on the balcony, beach, or pool areas.
Level 5. Re: smoking on balcony of condo 8 years ago Well I am happy to say that I have found a couple renters on vrbo in Calypso and Grand Panama that will allow smoking on the balcony. DJKEN49: Yes, my husband is a very considerate smoker. He always brings his own can ashtray and empties it at an outside trashcan and makes sure he doesn't smoke if he sees others around us on their balcony. Also in public he never leaves his butts on the ground but always stomps them out and puts them in the trash. Thank you everyone for your comments. I think we will be staying at the Calypso. :)

Level 9. Re: smoking on balcony of condo 8 years ago We stayed at Grand Panama Aug of 2012 and could smoke on balcony, you did have a area outside of pool gates that you could smoke at.

Can you smoke on the beach in Panama City?Steve Glazer of Orinda, as is the case in Panama, sadly the measure does not differentiate between vaping and smoking, banning both on most parts of state parks and beaches. The law rightly bans throwing cigarette butts anywhere besides in the designated waste bins.
Can you smoke on balconies in Florida?In FL you are allowed to smoke on 'private' balconies & private enclosed posted areas. However, the FL Clean Air Act of 7-1-03 bans smoking in public/common areas where you share the space with other members of the public.
