Rogue or Barbarian for fun melee DPS experience

I've always been partial to fighters that trade defense for more offense like the kensai in bg2.

Now I know pillars doesn't have anything that directly translates but which one of these classes fits the bill better for a squishy, but high dps melee combat that is fun to play?

Rogue has the highest single target damage. Barbarian for groups.

Rogue needs cc on enemies (either from himself or from others) to utilize full damage capabilities, and they are more squishy. Barbarians are self sufficient and hardy.
