Q: What happens if you dont give Munchlax his apples?

They dont do this every day, and never twice in the same day, so if you miss them, it could be a while before they come back. If they do appear, their stomach will grumble in the middle of the route, and after that you can give them an Apple of any kind, assuming you catch up before they leave.

I actually ended up running out of all apples last night and I’m not sure where I can go to reliably get more...

I usually farm sinister woods for tiny reviver seed and I get 3-4 big apples from there.

if you find an apple trap you can get quite a lot of big apples, for perfects you should just do easy quests as them as rewards. reg apples can be bought at keckleon in the town quite easily. Tiny apples all you need is food finder rq and you'll get a ton of those. Those are best if you have small stomach rq though.

Also try and look out for Small Stomach quality. It's worth bringing along to any dungeon, since a single seed will fill you up to max Belly. I usually only have to bring 1 Perfect Apple or 1 Big Apple to boost my max Belly capacity, then just run the dungeon and eat the seeds or berries I find on the ground, even for 50 and 99 floor dungeons

All three different Apples can be found throughout dungeon exploration from Thunderwave Cave onwards, with Big and Huge Apples appearing later on. Apples appear as a frequent item in Kecleon Shops, both in Pokémon Square and in dungeon explorations.
