Ps5 vs xbox series x reddit

It all comes to a single question: do you have a powerful PC? If you do, then PS5 hands down, no reason to own a xbox, if you dont, then Xbox by far.

PS is all about exclusives, damn good exclusives that you may or may not be able to play on PC like 4 years after release, if not more. But thats about it, oh and also the VR but yeah, exclusives it the reason you buy a PS.

Xbox is better in everything else; better hardware, a LOT more games, Gamepass that lets you play most of those games by paying just a few bucks each month, retrocompatibility and is cheaper. Thing is, if you own a powerful PC, theres no reason to own a xbox whatsoever.

I will buy a PS5 mostly because of Spiderman 2 and Horizon FW, but i aready have a high end gaming PC, so yeah, thats all i can help you with

Hi all. I know this has been asked a million times ,so sorry. I had a PS5 digital. I just sold it in hopes of getting the standard. Why? Because I didn't care for digital game prices staying so high 18 months after the games release. I tried some exclusives with the new ps now /plus hybrid like miles morales and such and though they are visually amazing, they didn't really do anything for me

My reasoning now is to have a Ric based console so that I can buy games a bit cheaper after they are released. I had a series s as well and I did enjoy the quantity but sort of preferred Sony's controller and UI/familoairry and the fact that you could do screen recording with audio whereas that was missing on series s.

Finally, I'd like to ask what do you have and what do you enjoy about it?

Would you go to the other side and if so, why or why not ?

I am still undecided but thanks everyone who have their thoughts opinions and advice was great. Hope you are all having a great day!

I've been really struggling to pick for these reasons

I've always wanted to play GoT, Bloodborne , Spiderman, GoW and the uncharted series

However for Xbox I game share and have game pass whilst also being a huge fan of the Halo series

I am not really that bothered about hardware as long as I can play with my mates even though majority are on PC

Any sort of help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks !

EDIT*** I DO NOT OWN A PC, I ONLY MENTIONED A PC AS MY MATES OWN

I know it's probably a super common question, but I really don't know what to do. Basically, I want to know which next-gen console I should buy. I always played on PS, but I've never played many SONY exclusives (except for maybe the God Of War series) and the XBOX seems more convenient (and easy to find) from what I could see online. Like the Ultimate game pass (or whatever it's called) seems better than the new PS+, but I'm not really sure. What are your thoughts? I'd love to know the opinion of people who played one of these platforms, because I'm kinda confused right now. (Also keep in mind that I've never even seen an XBOX in real life, since all of my friends prefer PlayStation)

So I’m coming to the stage where I’m looking to get a new console (I currently have Xbox one) but I’m struggling to chose, I’ve never had PlayStation and was always adamant that I’d always be on Xbox but the PlayStation exclusives are now tempting me as these are some games that I’ve always wanted to play. However, one of my closest friends still has Xbox but he’s like my only mate that does, and all my other mates have PS4 or 5 but I also don’t want to leave him behind.

Can anyone help?

Your comment seems very biased.

In terms of UI there was a study which compared the usability and for most actions you need less navigation on Xbox. The difference is quite significant.

In terms of exclusives we know that Sony has 28 projects in development of which 12 are live-service games. Microsoft currently has more than 50 projects in development of which only 11 are rumored to be live-service titles. Recently some Sony exclusives had issues (GT7, Destruction Allstars, Returnal) while Microsoft released games that were better rated than any recent Sony exclusive (Forza Horizon 5, Flight Simulator, Psychonauts 2). Microsoft also was the highest rated publisher last year according to Metacritic. Upcoming Xbox exclusives this year are Scorn, Ark 2 & most likely Forza Motorsport 8. Avowed is possible too but more likely early 2023 - we'll know soon.

In terms of hardware, subscription & costs, Xbox has a clear advantage. It has a better specs (CPU +3%, GPU +19%) and offers 800GB instead of only 670GB of usable space. I play a lot and see no reason to buy a storage expansion but even if I had to pay $200 for another TB those costs are offset. For instance I paid only $120 for 3 years of Game Pass. 3 years of PS Plus Premium will cost you $360 for comparison. Also Game Pass' offerings are leagues above PS Plus Premium.

In terms of features, Xbox has a browser and supports emulators like Retroarch to play SEGA, Nintendo & Sony classics. In fact a Xbox plays significantly more PlayStation classics than a PS4/PS5 - literally thousands instead of a couple select ones. Xbox also offers 1440p output and an advanced VRR option that works with every game and has low framerate compensation which is missing on PS5 (VRR won't work below 48Hz on PS5). On top of that the backwards compatibility on Xbox is much better : more games, more often enhanced resolution or FPS boost, Auto-HDR, ansitropic filtering, etc.

Is PS5 better than the Xbox Series X?

The Xbox Series X has a more powerful GPU, capable of 12 teraflops of computing power compared to 10.3 teraflops on PS5. The Xbox Series X also has a slightly faster CPU at 3.8GHz than the PS5's 3.5GHz CPU. Other than that, though, the systems are a close match when it comes to power.

Is PS5 more powerful than Xbox Series X Reddit?

The standard PS5 is the same price as the Series X but less powerful. It will perform worse in multi-platform games. This is down to both the CPU being slower, the GPU being less powerful, and both being variable.
