Opened: 1999 Quality Inn Stephens City-Winchester South is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, minutes from Shenandoah University, Belle Grove Plantation historic grain and livestock farm, Skyline Caverns cave tour, the picturesque Skyline Drive scenic highway, and Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park. This hotel is also close to George Washington's Office Museum, Stonewall Jackson's Headquarters Museum, the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum and the historic city of Winchester. This hotel offers many full-service amenities including free breakfast, free coffee and a free weekday newspaper. Guests can enjoy relaxing in the seasonal outdoor pool. The hotel was a bit outdated but it was clean enough and it seemed safer than most other lodging in the area.

The whole carpet was damp and sticky, the room had a bad smell, musty, mildewy. The bathroom had visible mold above the shower and the curtains were just those thin see through ones, so the sun came in first thing in the morning… We had planned to stay 2 nights but left after one. The hotel couldn’t refund me for the second night and now I have to deal with Expedia to try to get a partial refund. Overall not a good experience.

A comfortable night.

Comfortable room. Very clean. Comfy bed and pillows. Next door to a Starbucks. Conveniently located off the highway.

Room was relatively clean. Except ceiling was pealing. Pool was nice other than the group of males that set in chairs between the door and pool daily. This made me uncomfortable and limited my time at poolside. Unless there were a couple people around the pool I wasn’t comfortable enjoying it. As with most of the places I stay they were hiring and training staff. Which I hope eventually restores things to the type of quality we once had. There was nice places to shop and eat very close by.
