Clarkesville, GA (August 3, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on Tuesday, August 2, in Clarkesville. 

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around noon on GA-197 around the area of Joe Thompson Lane. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling in the area when it was suddenly struck by a Toyota Tundra due to reasons that are still under investigation. The motorcycle was left with extensive damages in the accident. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The biker, who has since been identified as 72-year-old Charles Moore, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The Toyota driver, who has since been identified as 64-year-old Paul Evan St. Martin, was not hurt in the accident but remained at the scene. 

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible. 

No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.

Statesboro, GA (August 15, 2022) – Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was killed in a fatal accident that happened at a Statesboro intersection on Monday morning, August 15. 

Bulloch County officials confirmed that the accident happened at 10 a.m. at the intersection of GA-80 and Cody Lane. A female was riding on a scooter-style motorcycle at the intersection when it was struck by a pickup truck due to reasons that are not fully known. The motorcycle was extensively damaged in the collision. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The female motorcyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Nobody else sustained injuries as a result of the crash. 

A large portion of the road was blocked at the intersection for several hours following the accident. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible so traffic could return to normal in the area. 

The investigation into the collision continues at this time. Police will update with new information as it becomes available.
