Savage 110 Elite Precision 338 Lapua barrel thread size

Q: What is the thread size on a Savage 110?

The 110 BA comes with a 3.5 inch muzzle brake that is threaded to an industry standard 5/8x24 (5/8-24 UNEF-3A) thread pitch. Savage felt that a muzzle brake was essential in the rifle design as the .

110 Elite Precision thread question.
Hi all,
First post, dumb question... I picked up a 110 Elite Precision in .338LM and as advertised there is no muzzle brake. I've done due diligence (cause work is boring today) trying to find the thread diameter and pitch to no avail. Can anyone help me out? Much appreciated!

I think 5/8 24 but I would email or call savage and confirm

Pretty sure it's 5/8-24... fairly standard for most things bigger than 0.224 diameter bore. Above 0.338 you start seeing something like a 3/4-20 thread.
The Area 419 Sidewinder four port brake is what I put on my 110 FCP 338LM.

Thank you all! I will shoot Savage an e-mail and I'll also take my calipers home with me and check the major and see what I get. I'm thinking 5/8-24 seems a bit small for a .338 (wall thickness seems kinda light) but who knows...

Nah, it's fine- and most likely what you have (same as my 110BA). Wall thickness is only 15 thou less than with a .30 cal, still well over .115 and more than adequate.
I don't get concerned until I get below .100- but there's no hard and fast "rule" here.

Good to know! Thank you! Too much time working with hydraulics I suppose :lol: I scrounged up an old 5/8-24 thread protector and it fit just like it should! Time to acquire a muzzle brake!

Yes they are! I have one on my 6.5CM MSR-10 long range! That rifle kicks like a .223 but nobody wants to be around me at the range. ��Makes sharing a suppressor across platform easy too!

I know lol, isn't that awesome how you only have to get the adapter and the self timing.. so convenient.. voted best brake 3 years running now by prs shooters

True. I am also pondering an APA Fat B@#tard Gen 3. Also self timing and I would just have to run a direct thread mount on the suppressor. If I go Sidewinder I would have to swap mounts depending on the rifle but I can't shoot two rifles at once sooo...
