    Spooky Space Kook

    Scooby Doo, Where Are You!

    S1E15: Spooky Space Kook (1969)

Scooby, Shaggy and the gang find themselves on an abandoned military base where they see a UFO and then a glowing alien. This fifteenth episode in the series is another winner and without question one of the best produced. This episode offers up all sorts of goodies for fans of the show but the highlight is without question the monster. The alien creature has a terrific look to it including the blue glowing lights and of course the skeleton face and its red flashing light. To me this here is one of the greatest monsters that the gang ever went up against and even better is its eerie laugh that certainly had me closing my eyes when I was a kid. The episode has a terrific atmosphere as the old military base was just a perfect setting and the broken down planes just added to the fun. Scooby gets a lot of good moments as does Shaggy and the rest of the regular players. Even the farmer is put to good use in his couple scenes.

The Spooky Space Kook was the disguise of Henry Bascomb.

    Physical appearance

It appeared to be a ghostly apparition of a humanoid inside of a blue spacesuit. A skull was visible through the helmet, with dull yellow eyes set inside black sockets. The "background" of the creature's space helmet was entirely dark but occasionally glowed in a sinister red hue whenever the creature laughed.

    Powers and abilities

The Space Kook left glowing footprints and fingerprints that dissipate after an undetermined time. This was later revealed to be due to rubber gloves and boots dipped in phosphorous.

    Personality

It tried to scare off snoopers with its high-pitched laugh.

He was trying to scare the farmer and the Air Force into selling their lands cheap.[1]

Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost

The gang had apparently been given the suit as a keepsake, but when they were forbade to pursue anymore mysteries after nabbing the wrong guy, this necessitated to remove all trace of their past mysteries, which included having a garage sale of selling off the Spooky Space Kook suit (with the helmet detached from the body) along with other mementos.[3]
