Sims 4 summon ghost without urn

I've spent the better part of two days working on this and I finally figured it out!! I had a hell of a time finding anything helpful with google so I'm hoping this will help someone in the future. I was doing this on a ps4 but I'm fairly sure it'll be universal. This is how I did it.

Ok, first it might be helpful to know the context. One of my sims relatives died off the lot/unwitnessed and when I went to get her urn from her old house it was not there (With all other 8 relatives the urns were always in the doorways of their houses. The only difference from her relatives I could discern was that she was living alone when she died and some random sims moved into her place which I evicted and added my own family members back into) Her ghost was still in my sims relationship tab but I could not find her ghost or her urn anywhere.

So here's what I did. (this is all done with testingcheats true already enabled)

Step one: Getting her ghost to my lot

This involved getting her sim ID number by opening the cheat tab and entering "Sims.Get_sim_id_by_name Cassie Green" Cassie was her first name and Green was her last. This gives you a long ass string of numbers in my case it was "613908693980678559" I suggest taking a picture or something. Then I entered "Sims.Summon_sim_to_zone 613908693980678559" into the cheat box which summoned her ghost to the lot I was on (Just to be extra clear replace the string of number with the sim id you got from the first part of this step)

Step two: Add her ghost to the family

This was done by shift-clicking (O+X on ps4) on her ghost and selecting "add to family" (this option won't show up if you have to many sims in the household which includes yet to be born baby sims)

Step three: Bring her ghost back to life

While actively being the ghost you want to bring back enter "Traits.remove_trait Ghost_oldage" Replacing the "oldage" part with whatever ghost trait your ghost has. You can find out how your ghost died by looking in the ghosts traits it will have one "Death By ....." trait. Like "Death by Drowning" "Death by fire" ect. Just remove the death by part and add in ghost so "Death by Drowning would look like "Traits.remove_trait Ghost_Drowning" (I have not tested this myself but from what I understand it should work)

Step 4: Killing them again to spawn a new urn.

I did this by having my sim die of overexertion as it was the closest I could quickly get to dying of old age (I didn't want to just wait out her whole elderlyhood again and the age up cheat just wouldn't work for me) So I put her in a basement with no stairs with nothing but a treadmill. I bought an energize potion from the aspiration store had her drink it before running (it's important to drink it first before you get the dangerously tired moodlet) then had her run until she got the dangerously tired moodlet but because the energize potion outweighs the discomfort of being dangerously tired I was able to get her to continue running until she died. I don't know why but it won't work if you drink the potion after you've already got the dangerously tired moodlet. Obviously you can kill your sim any way you want depending on which death by trait you want them to have. keep in mind ghosts behave differently depending on how they die so consider that before you just go killing them.

Ta-da! You have a newly spawned urn for that person right where you know it is.

So I played with "Raj and Geeta" in San Myshuno from City Living (son and mother).
Raj got married to my sim Sophia and they moved out had a baby etc.
Geeta DIED and there was NO emotional moodlet for Raj when his mother died, I didn't even KNOW she died!!

Kind of unrealistic, he doesn't even know or is effected by his mother's death.
It was on another lot, probably her home, I didn't witness it, old age. I went into the apartment in build mode and no urn was there.

Is there a mod to get her urn or anything? I think she should at least be mourned, her relationship is greyed out in ghost atm

Hello all. So yet another weird thing going on in my game. Is it normal to have a ghost from another lot show up on your lot your are currently playing without a tombstone/urn? I have a ghost that appeared from nowhere that I have no tombstone/urn for on my lot I am playing and she is not related to anyone on my lot.

My question is where did she come from? The lot she died on is not even close to the lot I am currently playing. Maybe the new patch did something to cause this.

*Edit* I removed all tombstone/urns from my lot and I am still getting a ghost.

Ghosts still show up in the game even with no tombstones.  If you are playing on a lot with the Spooky lot trait, that actually attracts ghosts and they will visit often.  If you don't have any in the game, the game will make one for this.  There is also ghost night at the bars where the game will use ghosts from sims who died but are still in the game or will make them so you get ghosts coming to the bar..  And every now and then, I get ghosts of dead NPCs and playables that just show up at a venue.  Not often but it does happen.  I have even had a ghost stall vendor before.

Tombstones or urns on the lot where one of your playable sims died will also give you ghosts.  They will show up now and then depending on whether you used the option to strengthen their bond to the world they may only stick around for a short time or a longer time.  If you release them to the netherworld, they are gone for good though.  What option you use is up to you.

You can also befriend and ask or invite a ghost to join the household so then they will be playable.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I have never seen a ghost without a tombstone/urn in my 3 years of playing the game. I never have a spooky lot trait mainly because I don't want the ghosts. They are a huge nuisance. I always release the sprit into the netherworld as soon as a Sim dies. The ghosts in Sims 4 are just ridiculous. With that being said, I hope the ghost with no tombstone isn't a regular thing because if so I'll have to find a new way to play the game.

How do I summon a ghost in Sims 4?

There are two ways of doing this:.
Using a séance table, a new object available to purchase in Build/Buy Mode. ... .
Using a séance circle, which only becomes available once your Sim has maxed out their Medium skill to Level 5..

How do you bring back a dead Sim without the urn?

Re: My sim died while I wasn't playing , no urn or tombstone..
Play a sim who has a relationship with the ghost sim for whom you want the urn..
Go to the relationship panel, click on the ghost, choose the MCCC option -> Sim Commands -> Maintain Sim -> Revive Sim..

How do you get rid of ghosts without an urn in Sims 4?

If you don't have an urn/tombstone, you can't release them as far as I know. If they are still part of the household, they won't go away either. But you can mitigate the damage they cause by giving them things to do and play them just like any other sim.

How do you summon a ghost from the grave in Sims 4?

If you have Realm of Magic, you can both call forth your ghost and resurrect them with certain spells. The one to call them forth from the grave is called Necrocall. The one that will return a ghost to a regular living Sim is called Dedeathify. Using this spell, you don't need Ambrosia or the Book of Life.
