With Purrloin, Haunter, and Misdreavus all making boosted appearances, there’s plenty to look forward to. The Spotlight Hour is one of the weekly events that Niantic hosts in Pokemon Go. Each week, a different Pokemon will get a turn in the limelight, offering highly boosted spawn rates and a special double bonus. For one hour, Trainers will get the chance to catch as many of that specific species as they can, offering the perfect opportunity to fill out their Pokedex and earn enough Candy to evolve and power up that Pokemon. Alongside these Spotlight Hours, a Community Day starring Litwick will take place on October 15. What is the next Pokemon Spotlight Hour? Date, time & bonusNext up, Purrloin!Niantic The next Spotlight Hour star is the Dark-type Purrloin. Niantic has confirmed that the next Spotlight Hour will be Purrloin, and it goes live on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. The Pokemon will be appearing more frequently in the wild for a short period of time, between 6PM-7PM local time. This means you’ll be able to take part and catch it wherever you are playing in the world. On top of that, players will be able to grab Double Evolution XP as part of the event bonuses as well. Is there a Shiny Purrloin in Pokemon Go?The bad news is that Shiny Purrloin is currently unavailable in Pokemon Go, which means that its evolution Liepard also cannot be Shiny. Alongside these tips, Spotlight Hours are the perfect opportunity to use any spare items like Lucky Eggs or Star Pieces to increase the XP you’ll earn during the event. Niantic Spotlight Hours give you a better chance to catch Shiny Pokemon. Spotlight Hour Spawn Rate & Shiny RateThe spawn rate of each Spotlight Hour Pokemon is boosted for 60 minutes during these events, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch each species, especially if you’re using Incense and Lures. As a result, the spawn rate of each Shiny variation is boosted too. Many trainers use Spotlight Hours to fill out their Shiny collection, so this is the perfect chance for you to do the same! This will be especially useful now that Niantic has introduced new Pokedex classifications to display your Shiny, Lucky, Event, and more Pokemon variants. It's Oddish! The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on April 19, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. During this event, Oddish will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon. Oddish is a Grass- and Poison-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Oddish into Gloom using 25 Oddish Candy. Gloom has two possible evolutions. It can be evolved into Vileplume using 100 Oddish Candy, or into Bellossom using 100 Oddish Candy and a Sun Stone. Shiny Oddish is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Oddish is all green, rather than blue and green. To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Oddish to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one. Also remember that you can activate a Star Piece to increase the amount of Stardust you earn for each Pokemon you catch during this event. The Star Piece bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of Stardust during this event. Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, one more of these events is scheduled to take place in April 2022. The Sunshine Form of Cherrim will be featured during the Spotlight Hour event on April 26. Can Joltik be shiny?And no, Joltik cannot be shiny in Pokémon Go, yet! Joltik's Shiny version has yet to be added to the game, and there's no news yet as to when it will show up. We can probably expect it in an event that has to do with electric- or bug-type Pokémon, or even an event that features Pokémon in the Unova region.
Is there a Pokemon spotlight hour every day?The Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour events were first introduced to the game in February 2020. Every week for one hour only (6pm - 7pm local time) a specific surprise Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild and a Mystery Bonus will activate.
Do spotlight hours increase shiny odds?Spotlight Hour Shiny Rate
The shiny rate for Pokemon is not boosted during Spotlight Hours. This means that the featured Pokemon will have its standard shiny rate, usually 0.2% or 1 in 500.
