A woman with a past.

In this week’s Throwback Thursday Soaps.com takes readers back to 1993 when Eric Forrester married and later divorced Sheila Carter…

Eric is currently trying to move forward with his life after Stephanie. However, there was a time years ago when he had to face hard facts that he married a lunatic. Eric had just come off of a marriage to Brooke when he began to date Nurse Sheila. When Sheila heard Brooke was pregnant she switched the paternity test results to make it appear as though Ridge had been the father of Bridget.

Shelia had Eric all to herself and married him in front of the family, who dressed in black, and Lauren Fenmore, who kept Sheila’s Genoa City past to herself. Shelia later partnered with Brooke, who obtained control over Forrester, which led to Eric being stressed and having a heart attack. Eric began to think there was more to Sheila and did something in secret. Lauren came forward and revealed Sheila’s past, who was committed and served with divorce papers after holding the Forresters at gunpoint and threatening to kill herself.

Eric Forrester is the head designer and the founder of Forrester Creations and Sheila is a nurse that came to Los Angeles from Genoa City.

Beginnings, Dating and Sheila's first scheme (1992)

Sheila appeared in Eric's office in May of 1992. She was trying to start working as a nurse in Forrester Creations. She wanted a new start in Los Angeles because she had a very bad past in Genoa City. She even tried therapy at Jay Garvin's office. When Eric and his then wife Brooke Logan Forrester decided to get separated Sheila made a play for him. Eric also liked Sheila and the two started dating. Sheila's happiness didn't last for long because Brooke announced that she's pregnant and Eric might be the father. There was a chance that Eric's son Ridge Forrester could be the father and that was what Carter hoped for as she didn't want Forrester to leave her and go back to Brooke. Sheila made friends with doctor Tracy Peters and started working at the hospital where the paternity test was about to be made. Sheila tried to get into the lab, but Tracy said she can't. She stole Tracy's key, but the keys had a code. In December 1992 Brooke gave birth to Bridget Forrester. Sheila made friends with Mike Guthrie who was guarding the laboratory. The two changed the test results so that it would say that Ridge is the father.

Sheila's dirty past was almost out when Forrester's old friend Lauren Fenmore arrived in Los Angeles. She was blackmailed by Sheila because she had a proof of Lauren's and Brad Carlton's romance. Meanwhile, Stephanie Forrester began to suspect Sheila was hiding something. She called Lauren, but she was silent because of her husband. Meanwhile, Brad himself was in trouble - if his romance with Lauren saw the light of day, he would lose custody of his daughter. He came to L.A., stole the photos, and went back to Lauren. She decided to act because Eric and Sheila were engaged. She was blackmailing her rival. As a result, Sheila ran away from the altar, but she and Eric eventually secretly got married during a secret ceremony.

Lauren's husband and Sheila's ex husband Scott Grainger was dying. Sheila visited him, revealing that she was still alive. The man forgave his ex-wife. Lauren arranged for Eric and Sheila to meet with her and Scott. Unfortunately, her husband told her that he forgave Sheila everything. His last wish was that Lauren remains silent about her past as long as Sheila is a good person. Lauren agreed. In 1994, to prevent Jay from talking to James Warwick, Sheila kills her doctor by throwing him off a balcony. Unfortunately, her marriage slowly began to fall apart. To prevent this from happening, Carter decided to give her husband a child. To her horror, Eric was unable to have children. So she decided to get pregnant with Connor Davis and convince Forrester that it was his baby. Unfortunately, it didn't work. When Lauren returned to town to talk to James about Sheila's misdeeds, she tried to drown her opponent. Lauren defeats her rival and runs away. She tells James about everything and he wanted to talk to Eric. Mike and Sheila overpower Warwick and kidnap him. He is being held at Sheila's house, which formerly belonged to Harry Houdini. James escaped and revealed everything to the Forresters. Sheila lured them, Lauren and James to the Forrester mansion, where she threatened them with a gun. Not wanting to go to jail, she drank poison. Doctors saved her and she ended up in a mental hospital. She also gave Eric a divorce.

When Sheila found out that her daughter Mary Warwick (at that time Mary was sure that her name is Erica Lovejoy) fell in love with Eric's son Rick Forrester she decided to give her daughter the life she herself wanted to have with Eric in the past. A series of Sheila's intrigues caused Rick's wife Amber Moore humiliation, and Rick and Erica got close. At the last moment, the truth about Mary's identity is revealed. Rick is outraged and throws the girl out of the house. Soon, Amber is also saved. Unfortunately, Sheila escapes the police and she goes to Erik's house, hoping to convince her ex-husband to let Mary stay at their house. A tragedy occurs there - Sheila wants to shoot Brooke, but Taylor stands up for her protection. Unfortunately, Ridge's wife is fatally shot. Sheila also shoots Brooke, injuring her in the arm. Sheila is caught and put behind bars.

Katie appears in Katie Logan's house terrifying the Logan woman. Katie was Eric's neighbor at the time. Sheila wanted Katie to talk to the Forresters on her behalf. Sheila was over the moon when Eric appeared in Katie's home. She started convincing him that she's a changed woman, but he didn't buy it and called Bradley Baker and accuses his ex wife of wanting to kill Quinn Forrester, his current wife. Sheila ended up being arrested and she desperately tried to explain to Eric that she's innocent. Soon Eric fund out that Deacon Sharpe was the person that tried to kill his wife and Sheila was in fact innocent. Quinn and Eric's on Ridge Forrester are shocked when Eric comes home with Sheila and tells them that they owe Sheila for accusing her of trying to murder Quinn. Sheila said that she will leave town and thanked Eric for believing in her being a changed woman. Soon after Sheila overheard Pamela Douglas and Charlie Webber discussing Quinn and Ridge. She decided to talk to Eric and ask about his marriage to Quinn. He replied that he is happy and asked Sheila to not question his marriage. One day Carter found out that Forrester's wife and Ridge were sharing kisses behind his back.
