We live in a house on the beach in spanish

  • #1

Hi,

If you have a house near a sea, would you say "I live at the beach." or "I live on the beach."?

Thanks.

I think the best thing to say would be "I live by the beach."

In my opinion - and others might disagree - if you say "I live on/at the beach" it sounds too much like you literally live on the sand. You can also say "My house is on the water" if you live right up by the beach - and funnily enough, that does not imply you literally live on top of the water. I grew up in an oceanfront community, and now that I think about it "on the water" is the most typical phrase I remember hearing.

What do you think of saying "I live close to the beach"?
If someone lives ten minutes from the beach, can he say, "I live by the beach"?

Personally, I think by the beach is a lot closer than ten minutes away. For that case, I would say live near the beach.

    Hi there
    How about:
    1) I live by the (sea).
    2) I live (next to) the beach / sea

    Do they make sense?
Is it something wrong with them logically / semantically?

I'd make the following distinction between them.

    • I live near the sea - it's less than five km away.
    • Anna lived by the sea - her house was 150 metres from the beach.
    • Natacha lives on the beach - only the width of a road separates them.

    for no reason

    at

    all...

    I

like to make myself a big pitcher of margaritas and take a nap out on

    the

    sundeck.

    terraza.

    Well,

    I

could give you the"everything's hunky-dory."I live at the beach, drive a nice car, and have a python in my pants" answer.

    I

mean, like, I'm constantly at the beach, even though I live in

    the

Valley with my family, here and there.

At some moment in our lives, many of us confidently said: I am going to

    live

    in the beach.

It's located right next to where

    I

    used to

    live,

in front of the beach, at

    the

    most Western-friendly neighborhood in

    the

    city Marina.

    Then

    I

found us a great place to live at that beach house, but you got us thrown out from

    the

    Real World.

    The Real World.

Many are tourists and others are people who love to

    live

    in Spain,

    at

home on the beach, skeptical smile and say:"I have been in Spain!

I lived in Miami Beach for 3 years, and

    I

moved to Hollywood, a city located in Miami's suburbs,

    at the

    end of 2015.

    Pretty much, in a year,

    I

went from a dishwasher loser working

    at

    Outback, to

    living

in Miami Beach in a five-bedroom house with my own car.
