For other articles related to Shulkers, see Shulker (Disambiguation). Shulkers (the portmanteau of shell and lurkers) are hostile mobs a player can encounter, as of the The Combat Update. They appear only in an End City, and don't spawn naturally again. Show Behavior
CombatThe best way to combat a Shulker is to just punch, or shoot the projectiles that it fires. It cannot be hit with projectiles (Thrown trident included) when its shell is shut, as they bounce off harmlessly, possibly recoiling back to a player. Destroy the projectiles and go for a bow first outside of a building, and just kill it with a sword, provided a ceiling is overhead. Trivia

What does a shulker box do?Shulker boxes are portable chests: they keep their items when broken, which can be retrieved when placed again. This is different from other containers, which drop their contained items as item entities when broken. A shulker box drops itself as an item if pushed by pistons or destroyed by an explosion.
What kills a shulker? An Iron Sword or above is recommended to fight the Shulker. However, when they have their shell closed, they receive 20 armor points, making them more difficult to kill. The Shulker will lose its armor points, once it opens its shell, making it easier to kill.
How do you tame a shulker in Minecraft? If you use Ender Pearls and summon an Endermite within 5-8 blocks of an Shulker Box with a single Eye of Ender in it, it would burrow into the Shulker Box and become a "tamed" Shulker. This shulker simply attacks hostile mobs like a golem (except Endermen and other Shulkers).
What are shulkers made of?To make a shulker box you will need two shulker shells that drop from shulker enemies and one regular chest. Head to a crafting table and place the chest in the centermost slot and arrange the shulker shells above and below it.
