Hi forum,

In the Spider Man movie, there's a scenario where the wrestling promoter accused Peter of not stopping the robber in the hallway, and Peter talked back to him by saying, "I missed the part where that's my problem." which previously said to Peter by the wrestling promoter.

I was wondering if it's grammatically correct by saying "I missed the part where my problem is." without changing any meaning to the original sentence. And the word MISS here means fail to do something?

Thanks

No, you can't change the sentence in this way, it doesn't make sense. Here "miss" means "fail to hear".

The change you want to make shows that you haven't really understood the sentence, learningabc. Let's see if I have.

The way I understand it, it means "I missed the part where it says that it's my problem". In short, "that's not my problem".

That's exactly how I understand it too. " I missed the part" is heavy sarcasm (?) because there was no such part to miss. To paraphrase, "Where does it say that's anything to do with me?"
