What is the song on TikTok everyone is dancing to 2022?

We all know how huge TikTok is, and in the past few weeks we’ve taken a look at the top most liked TikToks and the most popular TikTok trends, but where would it all be without music? In fact, where would we all be without music?

But especially on TikTok. No more lip syncing, no more dancing, no more unique situations and circumstances that are directly music-related. Videos would be so lifeless without it.

Let’s face it, without music, TikTok wouldn’t even exist.

It is the binding agent that holds everything together and the reason we react as we do to many of its videos.

That’s why I wanted to create a list of the most popular TikTok songs. The ones that push as many creators to come up with original content that makes our days.

Like with all music, not all popular TikTok songs will be suitable for everyone. Some of us might relate to the happier and more upbeat TikTok songs, while others might like sad TikTok songs better. But whether you’re a TikTok fan or not, there surely will be at least one song on this list that you won’t be able to resist.

So let’s get on with it and check out ten of the most popular TikTok songs of 2022.

1. Jax – Victoria’s Secret
2. LIzzo – About Damn Time
3. Hoàng Read – The Magic Bomb (Questions I Get Asked) [Extended Mix]
4. Navos – Believe Me
5. Céline Dion – It’s All Coming Back To Me Now
6. Duckhead From The Bed – Wait A Minute! (Duckhead Edit)
7. Harry Styles – As It Was
8. Duke & Jones, Louis Theroux – Jiggle Jiggle
9. Myriam Fares – Goumi
10. Doja Cat – Need to Know

1. Jax – Victoria’s Secret

Singer Jax from jaxwritessongs, who has 11.5 million followers on TikTok, has won the hearts of her female audience with her song about body positivity, called “Victoria’s Secret”. In the song, Jax talks about her struggles as a young woman in a society where being skinny establishes your value and self-worth, and how the founder of Victoria’s Secret is just an old man who lives in Ohio and makes money off of vulnerable girls and young women who are sold this image of the perfect body when instead they should be embraced for who they are and their uniqueness. This is one of Jax’s videos using the song:

She also organized a flash mob in front of Victoria’s Secret:

Of course, other women followed suit and recorded their own videos with their own stories, because they related very much to the song lyrics and message:

Girls, if you can relate to this, you like making TikTok videos, and you’re not too shy, join an army of over 30,000 girls who’ve used the song to further this important message. Help other girls know it’s important to love our bodies regardless of shape or size. Don’t let your cellulite or belly fat dictate your happiness. You’re worth so much more than that!

2. LIzzo – About Damn Time

Like with any highly rhythmical song on TikTok, users have tried their hands at coming up with a dance for Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” as well:

However, this dog’s stylish walking to the rhythm of the music wins it all:

3. Hoàng Read – The Magic Bomb (Questions I Get Asked) [Extended Mix]

The sound used on TikTok is from the beginning of “Magic Bomb”, a song released in 2021 by Vietnamese musician Hoàng Read. The song was originally used on TikTok as just another dance trend, where TikTokkers used hand gestures to reproduce the thumping sound, like in this video:

The song was initially popular only on Vietnamese social media, but it somehow migrated to American TikTok, where people started using it as a “Questions I get Asked” trend, portraying often stupid questions they get asked as celebrities or members of a certain community, like that of the blind, or simply insensitive or rude questions they get asked in certain situations:

4. Navos – Believe Me

This song is usually used for funny videos, like this one by Kallmekris, where she illustrates how you can defend yourself when annoying guys are hitting on you at the club:

Or this one where she plays off an accidental wave:

Also, this dog wiping her feet is adorable:

5. Céline Dion – It’s All Coming Back To Me Now

Céline Dion’s epic cover of “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now”, released in 1996, has made a comeback in one of the most wholesome trends on TikTok. In fact, it’s so wholesome and such an old-school kind of fun that it’s something I would have seen catching on in the 90s or early 2000s, and definitely would have not expected to become a trend in 2022. But what is it all about? The videos usually start with girls or women (but I’ve seen men as well) lip-syncing to Céline’s song dressed typically in a robe or coat, with their hair up, and then when the chorus drops, everything goes full-on glam and drama in the style of Céline: they drop the robe to reveal a glamorous dress, untie their hair so it can blow in the wind (aka hair dryers, leaf blowers, or fans), and start singing with dramatic gestures in the unique style of Céline. Of course, they all have their unique styles, with comedic elements sometimes thrown in, and sometimes even backup dancers or supporters. I suggest you check it out, it’s so much fun:

6. Duckhead From The Bed – Wait A Minute! (Duckhead Edit)

The song “Wait a Minute!” belongs to Willow Smith, who released it in 2015. While it was a little successful in 2015 as well, it wasn’t until 2019 that it went viral on TikTok with a dance challenge, and back again in 2022 with a sped-up version remixed by Duckhead From The Bed, and called “Wait a Minute! (Duckhead Edit)”. The videos mostly feature dances and dance challenges to this remixed version of the song:

This video also shows dance instructions with the use of emojis:

7. Harry Styles – As It Was

I’m sure everyone has been humming along to Harry Styles’s “As It Was” this summer. The song was hugely successful all over the world, staying at the top of the UK Singles Chart and Billboard Hot 100 for ten weeks. And of course, it made it to TikTok as well. The videos using this song are quite varied, from this guy dancing and having the time of his life on the streets of New York:

to people cleaning trash from the ocean:

or this video promoting body positivity and being happy at every stage of your journey:

8. Duke & Jones, Louis Theroux – Jiggle Jiggle

Another song that made it onto TikTok’s dance list is “Jiggle Jiggle” by journalist and documentary maker Louis Theroux. The clip was edited from an interview where Theroux was asked if he had rapped before, and DJ duo Duke & Jones just added auto-tune to his rapping. This song just seems made for a TikTok dance challenge, which most of the videos feature:

Even Shakira took on the challenge on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon:

This is the original video that Duke & Jones auto-tuned:

9. Myriam Fares – Goumi

“Goumi” is a single released by Lebanese singer and actress Myriam Fares in 2019. This is a clip from the original music video:

And this is Myriam herself trying to teach TikTokkers the moves:

Like many other rhythmical songs on TikTok, this one became a dance challenge as well:

But also used by dance instructors to offer belly dance lessons at birthday parties:

10. Doja Cat – Need to Know

Doja Cat has already had a few popular songs on TikTok like “Say So”, and now she’s back with her hit “Need to Know”, which was nominated for “Best Melodic Rap Performance” at the 2021 Grammy Awards. The song was released at the end of the 2021 summer, but it’s still popular on TikTok. At least for now, you know how it goes with TikTok music and trends.

Doja Cat moves very sensually to this song, as you can see here:

So naturally, a lot of women tried to imitate her. Like this girl in this funny video where her sensuality almost cost her her life:

There is also this slowed-down version of the song by xxtristanxo, that this girl uses in this video where she combines her amazing thrifting and sewing skills with some killer dance moves:

If you liked these popular TikTok songs, don’t forget to share the music love with your friends and check out some of our other TikTok-related articles!
