This may sound silly as the answer may be for it to cover two separate vinyl discs. But I have a few albums that cover two separate discs that aren't considered double albums. For example, my Oasis debut album has two and I have never heard anyone refer to it as a double album. Show
Correct me if I am wrong, but for something to be classed as an EP, I believe it should ~25 minutes at length and have more than 4 songs on it. (Although, I am aware this requirement hasn't been used very strictly with some of Kanye's recent work, such as Kids See Ghosts' debut being classed as an album with it being ~23 minutes long.) With this, what are the requirements for something to be a double album? If the answer is simply that there isn't much of a rule in place, it's just a combination of a long album with more songs than average, fair enough. I am struggling to find an answer online, so any replies would be much appreciated.
