Currently watching The Purge: Election Year, and am hoping someone can explain the timeline to me. During Anarchy, an announcement clearly says "This is the sixth annual Purge". Since it takes place in 2023, we can assume the first Purge was in 2017. But Election Year takes place 18 years after the events of the cold open, which looks like it's during a Purge, but I read it takes place in 2025...which would put that Purge in 2007. Also, Leo Barnes (the, I'm now realizing, underrated Frank Grillo) is in both films and looks about the same age. So what's the timeline we're dealing with here? Show
