What an ending!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

This book has fulfilled all my expectations and beyond!! It has fed my children, watered my crops, and cured my pimples.

I love it oh so much!!

Jude and Cardan have been my OTP since the day Jude attended a party at the palace in THE CRUEL PRINCE and had to bow before the then Prince Cardan and his band of brute faeries. I shipped them instantly.

And ever since they shared a kiss, with Jude pointing a knife at his throat, I have been craving for some sexy times between them. THE WICKED KING did not fulfill it 100%. They did not go all the way boooooo.

But you’ll find them banging hot and steamy in THE QUEEN OF NOTHING, chapter 21, thank you very much, Holly!! Finally!!

Yes, that’s right! Our precious Jurdan finally consummated their marriage and accepted each other as husband and wife.

Cue the confetti and the fireworks!!

Ahhh this book. I marked all the Jurdan feels moments in this book and I am so so in love with them!!

I love it when Jude enters the brugh and Cardan’s “Jude antenna” go whirring. I love it when he suggests Jude do a little private striptease for him when she comes disguised as Taryn. I love it when once they are in his chamber, Cardan goes to sit on his couch and pats the spot next to him, smiling.

Our Wicked King is royally, immortally smitten, mortals and immortals!!

I love it that he recognizes his wife immediately for who she is. I love it when she gets kidnapped by Madoc (who mistook her as Taryn) and Cardan uses so much power to stop them from kidnapping his wife.

I imagine him going inside like this:

“NO!!! THAT’S MY WIFE!! MY WIFEEEE!! DO NOT TAKE HER AWAY FROM MEEEE!! I JUST GOT HER BACK!!! MY WIFE!! MY WIFEEEEE!!! 😠😭😠😭😠😭😠😭😠😭😠😭”

It’s so cute!! 🤗🤗🤗

I love it when Cardan comes to rescue Jude against everyone’s advice. I love it when his laughter dies out seeing Jude in a very Very VERY diaphanous nightgown while rescuing her. I love it when Cardan shields Jude from poison darts by jumping in front of her and covering both of them with his cloak, gifted by Mother Marrow to be unaffected by any blade out there. I love it when he gives her the same cloak when she goes to rescue the Ghost.

I LOVE IT WHEN HE ANNOUNCES TO THE WHOLE OF ELFHAME,

“Do not touch her […] She is my wife, […] The rightful High Queen of Elfhame. And most definitely not in exile.”

I just wept in joy 😭😭😭😭😭

I love it when he carries Jude, bridal style, to his room, puts her raggedy bleeding self on his bed, and takes care of her on his own. I love it when he takes her to the rose garden once she recovers and their heartfelt confessions to each other. The slap! The hand holding! The finger lacing!

Oh my heart!!

I love it when Cardan protests to the Bomb’s threat of kicking him out of his bedroom by saying,

“This is my room,” […] And that’s my wife.”
“So you keep telling everyone,” the Bomb says.

Oh my poor poor heart!!

I love it when Cardan scares Randalin so much the latter almost pees his pants for pressing Jude to relinquish her title as the High Queen. I love it when he watches his wife get dressed and gives her tips to handle the crowd during the next banquet. I love it when he raises a toast to Jude at the banquet.

Okay here comes the big ass bomb!!

I LOVE IT WHEN CARDAN AND JUDE MAKES OUT SO FUCKING PASSIONATELY AND THEN HAVE SEX TOGETHER ON THE FLOOR!! HE GIVES HER FULL REIN OF THE MOMENT AND THE SITUATION AND I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK!!

“By you, I am forever undone.”

*sobs*

“We have lived in our armor for so long, you and I. And now I am not sure if either of us knows how to remove it.”

*sobs harder*

“I missed you […] In the mortal world, when I thought you were my enemy, I still missed you.”
“My sweet nemesis, how glad I am that you returned.”

*plain ass dies*

I love it when he accompanies Jude to the Hollow Hall. I love it when he listens to Taryn tell him about the mortal world just to get Jude to like him. I love it when he confesses his feelings to her before turning into a giant snake.

“It’s you I love,” he says. “I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.” He walks to the door to the royal chambers, as though to end the conversation. “You probably guessed as much,” he says. “But just in case you didn’t.”

I love it when Nicasia tells Jude how Cardan secretly released human servants from Balekin’s service. I love it when Nicasia also tells Jude how the dress Jude wore to Dain’s coronation is from Cardan. I love it when Nicasia reveals to Jude that Cardan never hates loving Jude.

“I hate that he loves you.”
“He hated it, too,” I say with a laugh that sounds more brittle than I’d like.
Nicasia fixes me with a long look. “No, he didn’t.”

I am deceased!

I love it when Jude runs to Cardan after he emerges from inside his snake body. I love it when they dance in the aftermath banquet.

But what I loved the most??

The most soul-destroying (in a beautiful way) conversation they have. When Jude finally reciprocates his feelings and he realizes she is not lying. Not this time.

“I love you,” I say, the words coming out in an unintelligible rush.

“I first started liking you when we went to talk to the rulers of the low Courts,” I say. “You were funny, which was weird. And when we went to Hollow Hall, you were clever. I kept remembering how you’d been the one to get us out of the brugh after Dain’s coronation, right before I put that knife to your throat.”
He doesn’t try to interrupt, so I have no choice but to barrel on.
“After I tricked you into being the High King,” I say. “I thought once you hated me, I could go back to hating you. But I didn’t. And I felt so stupid. I thought I would get my heart broken. I thought it was a weakness that you would use against me. But then you saved me from the Undersea when it would have been much more convenient to just leave me to rot. After that, I started to hope my feelings were returned. But then there was the exile—” I take a ragged breath. “I hid a lot, I guess. I thought if I didn’t, if I let myself love you, I would burn up like a match. Like the whole matchbook.”
“But now you’ve explained it,” he says. “And you do love me.”
“I love you,” I confirm.
“Because I am clever and funny,” he says, smiling. “You didn’t mention my handsomeness.”
“Or your deliciousness,” I say. “Although those are both good qualities.”

My babies! My traumatized, love-crazed, emotionally abused babies! Now that I’ve read the prologue in THE CRUEL PRINCE and the prologue of THE QUEEN OF NOTHING, my heart breaks so much for these two babies. I just wanna adopt them, feed them, hug them, tuck them in bed, read them bedtime sleep, and just mom them up!! They need a long good genuine hug so badly!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
