Where Did the Anime Leave off in Demon Slayer’s Manga?

Season 2 of Demon Slayer, the most recent anime content, adapts up to chapter 97 of the manga.

Chapter 97, titled No Matter How Many Lives, Part 2, rounds off the Entertainment District Arc. The chapter also finishes volume 11 of the manga.

If you want to start reading Demon Slayer from where the anime has left off, the best option is to read from chapter 98 onwards. If you’re purchasing physical copies, this will be from the start of volume 12.

Where to Start Demon Slayer Manga After Mugen Train

If you want to reexperience Demon Slayer Season 2 in the manga, you can start reading from chapter 67. Chapter 66 is where the Mugen Train film ends.

For many fans, Mugen Train was their first experience of the Demon Slayer franchise. This film was a huge success, particularly in terms of how it engaged new fans.

If you want to get ahead of Demon Slayer Season 3, the Swordsmith Village Arc series will start from chapter 98 of the manga.

Technically, the Swordsmith Village Arc starts from chapter 100 of the Demon Slayer manga. However, as with the Entertainment District anime season, the first few episodes of the anime will round off the end of the previous arc to bring fans back up to speed.

Therefore, if you’re wondering about where the anime will start, you need to start reading from chapter 98. In terms of Demon Slayer’s manga volumes, this is the start of volume 12.

Demon Slayer Season 3 will continue the story from where it left in Season 2 and will feature the most awaited Upper Moon’s meeting with Muzan Kibutsuji.

In this arc, Tanjiro travels to the Swordsmith Village to replace his broken sword because Hotaru Haganezuka is tired of repairing it. Upon arrival, he is taken directly to the chief of the village where he gets to know that Hotaru went missing not so long ago. He then brings Tanjiro to the hot springs of the village, to help his body heal.

At the hot springs, Tanjiro runs into other Demon Slayer corps members including the ‘Love Hashira’ Mitsuri Kanroji, ‘Mist Hashira’ Muichiro Tokito and fellow demon slayer, Genya Shinazugawa. But soon, the Upper-Ranks Four and Five of the Twelve Kizuki launch a coordinated assault on the village.

In the absence of Zenitsu & Inosuke, Tanjiro joins the two Hashiras in a ferocious battle with the Upper-Ranks. With the beginning of the “Swordsmith Village Arc”, the story of Demon Slayer will start heading to the final saga where Tanjiro will confront Muzan once again.
