What are people saying about restaurants near Freeport, ME 04032?

This is a review for restaurants near Freeport, ME 04032:

"It was a fairly good establishment for years. I would have given it a solid 4-5 stars. Wait staff is nice enough, food is good, a little pricey but they can get the money from most of the tourists. My main complaint that brings my review down is some of the seasonal items they did not return. Firstly I want back the Zupa de Pescae, this was a delicious seafood chowder. Secondly the black and blue pizza, a pizza with steak and blue cheese. These were good and I was disappointed to see them go and even more disappointed when they did not return after a few seasons. Bring back these items."

My friends and I went to Linda Bean’s Tavern to order lunch. The service was quick and excellent! Our hostess was very precise and very attentive to our needs, bringing new drinks without even being asked. The food was great as well, large portion sizes for reasonable costs. The Fried Clams were by far our favorite, and the Iced Tea was also really great. I’d very much recommend this restaurant to anyone looking forward to good, affordable food after a day trip of Freeport shopping!

Had some bloody Mary’s and lunch. The bloody Mary’s were ok they use a bottle mix and its a high tomato taste. The lobster club was amazing. So much lobster and worth every penny. Had the avocado salmon toast fresh heavy on the capers worth getting again. Simmonsville burger meat was good. Was a little more bun then meat ratio. And if you get the double it means two separate burgers not two patties on one bun. Overall very good food

I started out with the seafood stew very good. Had the bacon scallops and lobster pockets. Tasted amazing. My boyfriend got the mixed seafood plate very generous portions and the waitstaff was very pleasant.

Delicious food with an upscale and fun atmosphere! This is an excellent spot to stop with the family or with you significant other for a special meal. The restaurant was very neat and clean. The layout was not crowded and easy to navigate. The staff was amazing. Well versed in everything the offered and friendly. Our drinks were superb and perfectly made. Everything we made we picture perfect, and made exactly how we ordered it. It is also quite an experience to watch them make the pizzas! We will be back often.

Food was fantastic. Definitely try the meatballs! Drinks were great, and the chocolate cake was to die for. Kasey our server was fantastic!! Great, enjoyable lunch out with the wife. Will certainly go again!

We drove over an hour to get here. WELL worth the trip. We decided to go here today for our sons 15th bday. We made the right choice. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We watched at the chef was throwing his pizza doughs in the air during our wait. The food was really good. We will be making the trip back to Freeport just to go here again. Can't wait for date night here!

Fantastic food and top torch service. The steak I had was perfectly cooked and the lobster roll was excellently crafted. To find the restarant you can park in the hotel’s lot, enter in the back doors, head up the stairs, take a left and walk down the hallway next to the front desk. A bit complicated, but that’s because the restarant itself is inside the hotel. Overall we had an excellent meal.

The food was decent (steamed lobster). The lobster soup was very oily. Dimly lit. Very loud. Server was meh at best. My guest didn't eat their salad, didn't touch it at all and the server never asked why. I didn't touch my veggies or cole slaw (weird side for lobster) and I also wasn't asked why.

We ordered takeout chowder here, but it is a really nice little restaurant with a cozy vibe. I was really surprised by the small quantity of chowder for the bowl size. $12 for about a cup and a half of chowder feels really pricey! Maybe they just gave us the wrong size? It was also incredibly salty. If you prefer a salty chowder, this is the place for you! I appreciate that staff were all wearing masks and the food was ready quickly.

Great flavorful BBQ! Being from Alabama, this is not the flavor profile of Southern BBQ; however. The pulled pork was moist and well flavored. The sausages were great. The fried pickles were amazing and one order of pickles could feed 6 for an appetizers. I didn't feel the macaroni was worth the $3 extra for a jacked up side, but don't let that take away from the great technique of BBQ being done here. The blueberry sauce is great! Let's not leave out how nice and helpful everyone was!

We stopped for dinner and were not at all disappointed. The folks here are very friendly and efficient. Our meals were flavorful, hot, and delicious. Hubby was very pleased with the Fall of the bone ribs, spicy sausage, and crisp fries. I had the grilled chicken tostada salad...amazing. And the fried pickles...yum!

It's too expensive just for BBQ. Even though the food was good. They serve a lot so consider one plate for two. Attentive waitress.

Had a very good lunch at Jameson Tavern. We got seated quickly. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was good. I had the crab melt and we shared a lobster cocktail. Although none of us ordered it, we loved that they had a “lazy lobster” on the menu where they take all the meat out for you!

Loved the atmosphere and everyone who worked here who we interacted with was *lovely* af. We got the baked lobster and the baked seafood medley and both were great. I loved the lobster, it was perfectly cooked and the scallops were excellent. I’m not sure I’d get the baked lobster again though because the stuffing in some ways distracted from the exceptional quality of the lobster itself. Fantastic though and glad I tried it! Side potatoes were great but broccoli was over cooked. The portion size for the Baked Seafood Medley was a bit on the small size!

Wonderful seafood!. We had the scallops appetizer, which was delicious very tender and perfectly cooked. (Note the empty plate!) A great deal actually as you get a lot for an appetizer. Then the haddock platter and sandwich were both perfect. Tender, fresh and very tasty. Even the coleslaw was very fresh and crunchy. We sat outside on such a beautiful day. Highly recommend

Beautiful place, extremely nice staff, place is great kids running around, setting by the outside fire pit, just an all around good place. Now the food was delicious, sides were good and appetizers were very tasty. They were very busy but still didn't take long at all to get a seat then not that long to get food. I like how they had a little bit of everything on the menu. Definitely recommend to try out this place especially if you have some time to spend with friends at have a great time.

They were out of the special we wanted so mom & I got their turkey burgers. Beautiful ambience, with patio seating. They also have picnic table type seating indoors as well as normal seating. They can accommodate lots of people.

We were excited for gluten free pizza and it did not disappoint! Because they are the “small” size we ordered two and figured we would have leftovers (potentially). We were both satisfied with our choices. The staff was very nice and accommodating

This place was exactly what we were looking for when we arrived to Maine late on a Friday night. The homemade hummus plate was delicious! We followed with they Aegean calzone, which was also so good! All the ingredients tasted so fresh! We will be back!

Italian restaurant

Quaint, comfy place providing artisanal pizza & Italian entrees, plus happy hours & outdoor seating.

Slide 1 of 3

Great service and food! Heidi, our bartender/server, was attentive to our needs and has a super friendly personality. Due to limited staff (in times of Covid) and in order to maintain quality service, the restaurant takes the last customers at 6 p.m., but it is well worth switching your schedule that day for an early dinner.

We absolutely love the burgers here. They're consistently cooked exactly as requested and have been a family favorite for years. The rest of the menu is traditional- but always has some excellent, very creative highlights that are well worth a try. Service has been fantastic every time I've been here. Very efficient, pleasant and fast. Dining room can get a little noisy when it's full, but outdoor seating and takeout are both available if it's too loud.

It’s a fair restaurant but not above and beyond. They claimed to have gluten free pizza but in reality I was told that it is cooked on the same surface as regular pizza, so there is a big risk of contamination. Our waiter was a little bit rude suggesting that the gluten “burns off” when in the oven which is concerning considering that some people including me can have a big problem if they eat even a crumb of gluten. I went with the Vegetable Risotto which was fine. The squash was over cooked and burned but besides that, it was a decent dish. My brother ordered a pepperoni pizza was burned and filled with grease. The service was slow and below average. The waiter also forgot to give us any silverware even after our food was served. I think the issue may have been that they were short staffed. The picture of the pepperoni pizza in my review is the replacement pizza we ordered and was luckily less burned than the first one which was charred on the top.

Really great place. Awesome service, we did have to wait quite a while for our food but it was really hopping. Good size line to be seated, we didn’t wait too long but the next people did. It’s worth it! Excellent food and value.

Nice local diner that seems like it's been there forever. Pretty good menu with large servings, reasonable prices, and better coffee than I expected. Right on Route-1, between Day's Crab and the Best Western. Been there twice, and no complaints. Steep stairs in front, but there's an accessible entrance on the side (the back, when looking from the street).

After dropping my car off at Autowerkes for a service decided to stop here for a quick breakfast. Grabbed a omelette and breakfast potatoes with a side of cinnamon raisin toast. All in all everything was delicious. I would like to come back here for lunch and try more of their burger fare

Excellent appetizers to be had at Linda Bean's Maine Kitchen in Freeport, ME. The crab cakes were crunchy, well seasoned, and matched well with the spiced aoli. The lobstacicles (a lobster tail cut in half, seasoned, and grilled were excellent and fresh with a light slaw. Highly recommend.

While passing through Freeport today, my husband and I ordered a lobster roll meal to go. The food was amazing and the hostess was even more amazing! Her friendly and bubbly personality made us feel welcomed, appreciated and valued as a customer! Thank you for the delicious food and give that wonderful hostess the raise she so deserves! What a treasure and great asset you have on staff! Ayden, NC

Good food and they really do put nice amount of lobster in the dishes. Clam chowder was great. The wait to actually get our food was well over an hour. Carol our server was wonderful and very apologetic. It this was out of her control.

Great value for an excellent breakfast. I originally thought beans were a weird thing to get for breakfast, but boy was I wrong. Dare I say the beans were so darn good they’re the #1 thing I’d recommend you try out although don’t worry - all of their other breakfast food is also great. Plus the service was fantastic so that’s an extra bonus.

We went here on a snowy Friday morning and were surprised it was open. There was one woman waiting on the tables and for a snowy day she was very busy. She handled it great. The food was good, portions good and we left full and content. We recommend this place for a great breakfast

Disturbed and grossed out. Found a large black hair in our food, recieved meat in our order (we ordered vegetarian) and the food was so greasy it made my husband and I feel sick. Overall a terrible experience and would highly recommend dining elsewhere!

Do not place an online order with China Rose. Received acknowledgement of order at :600 with a ready time of 6:50. Arrived at 6:45, and based upon receipt on order bag, order was entered at 6:45. It was just after 7:30 when the order was ready.

Pickup window was staffed by a young man who was quite rude and seemed inconvenienced by my request for sauces. The high price and mediocre food is usually offset by the friendly staff. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore and I can't recommend eating at this establishment until they address their customer service issues.

Omg, my new favorite place to eat in Freeport (and that's saying something!). Best thai food I've had in over a decade. Literally everything we ordered was incredible, and we tried a lot! The Som Tum was a lot spicier than we expected, and we only ordered a 2, but everything else was perfec ❤️ AND they gave us some free dumplings! I'd give them a 6 out of 5 if I could!

Super delicious, they had plenty of options. Our food came fast and tasted fresh. The sticky jasmine rice was amazing. Their fried dumplings were the best we ever had!

This was hands down one of the best pad Thai dishes I’ve ever had. I’ve been disappointed a lot lately when ordering pad Thai, but when I took a bite of this dish, I was blown away. It had the best flavor! Just the right amount of tangy peanuty goodness. And the portion was really big. It was gluten free as well. I had to ask them to make it a little bit spicy, they don’t make it spicy unless you request it, which is different than I’m used to them doing on the west coast. I’m in Portland for the next 3-4 months, and I will definitely make the 20 minute drive for this Pad Thai, and to try other dishes. If you’re in Freeport, give them a try!

I can't say enough about Li's. For years, I thought I didn't like Chinese food. But that's because I had clearly never had Li's food. Not only is the food outstanding -- especially the soups, Mapo tofu, and the Lo Mein -- but the service is exceptional. Li and her son are so friendly on the phone and when you are there. I have started driving from Bath to Freeport to pick-up massive orders for everyone in my office because they all love it so much.

We had seen this place off the beaten path a couple times before but didn’t check it out until we got a couple glowing recommendations. Li’s is an absolute gem, The food is wonderful and Li herself is so sweet! She uses great ingredients and the food is cooked to perfection, we had orange chicken General Sal chicken and two different types of her amazing lo mein and the meat and all of them was perfect, no fat and tons of flavor. You can tell she takes a huge amount of pride in what she does.

At last! The best Chinese food in taste, quality, and customer service we've experienced in our area in quite a while. Our orfer: hot and sour soup, wonton soup, barbecued pork, spring rolls, orange chicken, and beef and mushroom. Also, a chicken fried rice which they initially missed when we gave my order. Sincerely apologizing, they prepared it for us in 4 minutes. Everything was delicious, non-greasy, and were good -sized portions. The barbecued pork were thick lean strips not shaved. The same was true of the chicken in the chicken fried rice. Our new go-to for Chinese cuisine.

That double cheeseburger is awesome. Thick meat always hot & good juicy meat slices. I've had it a few times now & I'm pretty damn impressed.

If I could half star I would. To start off, we waited in line for over 30+ minutes in line just to have my order be wrong and cold. I couldn’t even get a replacement for my incorrect food due to lobby being closed and another 30 minute line had formed. I get being busy but there is no reason it should take 5 or more minutes to take each orders. Unpleased.

Most unusual McDonald's I have ever been to. It's a historic house that was bought and turned into this restaurant 35 years ago. What a way to preserve the town but be modern. Not your usual dining room either... seperate rooms in the house with house like wooden dining room table and chairs. Staff is eager to tell you all about the Gore house and even has a large postcard size explanation with picture they give you. First McDonald's I ever been to that serves Lobster rolls. Would have driven right past this one with the beautiful landscaping around the house and the small logo sign if I hadn't Googled it.

If only we had Brickyard Hallow in my city! We loved their sausage, red onion and fresh mushrooms pizza! Just love it! Thanks, Owen for taking our photo. Good food, best service. The Blueberry Soda, boom 💥! My sister bought a few more to take home to Connecticut.

The food was really good and the people were nice, the kitchen was loud because they were singing to music and having a great time. Only complaint is that they're a bit pricey for pizza, but I understand that they're offering an up-scaled version, so it makes sense. My boyfriend tells me their sides come in huge portions as well which would in part make up for the higher pizza prices.

Had a great experience here after walking around the LLBean store. We ordered the blueberry pizza (very light flavors with white sauce-unique and delicious); the sweet potato and honey pizza-definitely get the hot honey to take it up a notch: and the Caesar salad. The Caesar was just a head of romaine that had shaved Parmesan, capers, and croutons. Woulda loved some fresh greens or a radish or two. Didn’t drink beer, but had a ginger beer and root beer.

It's standard D-noes. Great service. Great pizza. It's not wood fired or stone oven pizza, but it's still good. Excellent when you just want a cheap quick pie. Love this location. Been here a few times, will be back again.

I placed an order at 7:09. After an entire hour passed I checked the tracker, it was still in “prep”. My husband called and the kid said “the driver will be back soon and we didn’t want to start the order without him being back”. We waited another hour and nothing. If you don’t have a driver or are having issues isn’t it your responsibility to call the customer? I have had multiple issues with this location and after this I’m never eating at domino’s again. This company has terrible customer service and management, especially in this location. Do not bother responding to me on here with your generic responses.

Rating five stars because the service was great and the food was delicious. I do want to say that I don’t think it’s fair - or safe - to have an employee run and close the store all by herself. I hope this is done differently in the future.

Great new spot for a second tasting room. Nighthawk has awesome food.

Beers were good- wish they had a flight offering so you could sample multiple beers. Inside was nice and spacious and outdoor patio was great. Pretzel from food truck was amazing! Hands down, best pretzel. The so called “extra crispy” wings were a big disappointment. Not crispy at all and rubbery. We didn’t finish them in fear that they were undercooked. Good flavor though. Staff was- meh. Not overly friendly or helpful. Overall, went for the beer which wasn’t a disappointment.

Looked for a tasty, quick lunch when we were heading north on 295 and got off at Freeport, ME. Luckily we stumbled on this recently opened place. We had very good birria tacos w beef and veggie tacos. Ingredients were fresh and well seasoned, cafe was small but pleasant. Also got to hear the proprietor's story of trying to get going during Covid as either a food truck or cafe. Well worth a visit.

I’ve been looking for a healthy breakfast option in the Freeport area for years and it looks like I’ve finally found my spot! Had a delicious smoothie this morning and I can’t wait to go back and try one of their smoothie bowls or fresh juices. Perfect place for a light and healthy breakfast on the go.

i ordered a smoothie hoping for fresh made to order as it seems it should be, i waited for five minutes as she made others orders ahead of me. when she got to mine she pulled an already made smoothing from a fridge and handed that to me... i was perfectly fine with the wait and had made no comment about being in a rush. if i had wanted a premade smoothie i would have gotten it from the cart fridge thing myself.. not super thrilled with that service when everyone else's were being made to order. on the bright side the watermelon juice i bought was very good

My smoothie was amazing, perfect texture, great ingredients and really yummy. The environment inside was comfy, would definitely prefer to relax and study here over other places. My only issue was the price, 10.50 for what would be considered a size between a large and a small at Maine Squeeze (also fresh great ingredients and a large is around 7$). I would pay that for a bowl, but not a medium smoothie unless it was going to be my whole breakfast.

OK, this isn't a 5-star restaurant, it's a solid 4-star place and I'm giving it 5 starts for that. Unexpectedly low prices for a coastal island restaurant, enormous servings of delicious food, and a 'staff of personality' like something out of a sitcom that'll make you want to tip extra just for having met them. They serve ice cream, and 'adult' sundaes with a shot of your choice of spirit or liqueur, or just a blob in your coffee. The locally famous May Hall is herself a vegetarian, so there's always alternative dishes planned, yet she cooks meat like a carnivore. If you get there early enough, and they've managed to keep whatever obnoxiously toothsome dessert from the ravenous clutches of the dishwasher, you can have an obnoxiously toothsome dessert May has created. Live music most every weekend, and occasional in-house entertainments like karaoke and Pub Trivia, or just hanging with the colorful locals, it's a great place to visit. If you're touring the islands in Casco Bay, make sure to swing by when they're open.
