Who sings the new Nascar commercial?

The world is slowly being taken over by non-gluten organic food, texting, liking and tweeting, and NBC Sports is there to give the people a NASCAR infused break. The star of a new commercial celebrating the 4th of July weekend broadcast on NBC is Nick Offerman, a man of great voice and even greater mustache.

The commercial already has 3.000.000 views on Youtube, and it will have its TV premiere during NBC’s coverage of Super Bowl, the other last resort of good old American manliness. The two-minute long video begins with the already memorable words: “America it’s time for a gut check.” and the country music inspired song followed by a gospel choir offer some more great views on NASCAR such as: “Welcome to the place where we speed all day, where we bump and grind in a non-sexual way. Where scores are settled, and we break the rules, and everybody’s got a set of badass tools.” and “200 miles for freaking hour, 700 freaking horse freaking power!”

;

The featured cars are the fictional, all-out American No. #94 stock car driven by Offerman throughout the video and a 1967 Plymouth GTX coupé in a fictional NASCAR-inspired livery, possibly referencing Richard Petty’s No. 43 Plymouth in which he won 27 races in 1967.

;

Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Newman, Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are also mentioned, reportedly superhuman, on which we can’t really argue, because it is almost true. Jeff Gordon, Carl Edward, Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson and Busch brothers [the bushes] are also featured in the commercial, ending with a burnout and a solo on a double neck guitar.

;

In his full politically incorrect glory, Offerman remarks: “Sure, everybody in NASCAR gets a trophy, as long as they win a f*****g race.” “Hello glory, goodbye strife, you got NASCAR in your life.” are the finishing lines of this racing anthem and possibly the best racing-related commercial ever made, and on that bombshell, all we have to say is God bless NASCAR and Nick Offerman!

It’s probably something royalty-free so FOX doesn’t have to pay to use it. Enough of its lyrics are distinctive enough that it should appear in a lyrics search, so if it hasn’t come up in a lyrics search, it’s probably something royalty-free buried somewhere that a FOX staffer found on their Epidemic Sound account or something.
