Appearances

  • Kermit the Frog appeared as a contestant in the March 2021 season 5 premiere of the American series, disguised as the Snail and singing Hall & Oates' "You Make My Dreams." Kermit was eliminated from the competition and his identity was revealed at the end of the program.
  • In the clue package, the Snail was shown hosting a talk show, with a bear and the Eagle, the costume used by Dr. Drew in another season. The Eagle throws meatballs at him. A treasure chest also appears. It was mentioned that the celebrity had rubbed shoulders with Robert De Niro, Lady Gaga, and Michelle Obama. The clues were devised by Jim Lewis, who also wrote some of Kermit's post-reveal interviews.[1]
  • After the performance, Jenny McCarthy remarked "I feel like he's pushing out a Kermit the Frog sound."
  • The celebrity judges speculated that it was Jay Leno, Seth MacFarlane, Billy Crystal, Jimmy Kimmel, Mark Wahlberg, and Adam Sandler. Ted Cruz and Adam Carolla were guessed before the unmasking.
  • Had Kermit not been eliminated when he was, he had prepared to sing "I'm a Believer" in a later appearance.[2]
  • Kermit returned in season 5, episode 8, joining the other eliminated celebrities from that season to sing Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up."
  • Season 8, episode 5 (airing on October 26, 2022) features a "Muppets Night" theme, including guest appearances by Kermit, Miss Piggy (as a guest panelist), Animal, Fozzie Bear, Crazy Harry, Uncle Deadly, and the Snowths.[3][4] Matt Vogel, Eric Jacobson, Drew Massey, and Art Vega were credited as performers for the show.
