Prince Harry today astonishingly accused the Palace of 'lying to protect my brother' and claimed he and Meghan were the victims of 'institutional gaslighting' in his most incendiary attacks on the Royal Family yet. Appearing in a new trailer for their Netflix series, the Duke, 38, abandoned all pretence at restraint as he namechecked Prince William, 40, and took aim at unnamed people who he accused of deliberately misleading the public. 'They were happy to lie to protect my brother, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us,' he said. Today's trailer also saw Harry say, 'I wonder what would have happened to us if we hadn't got out when we did', before Meghan, 41, added: 'I wasn't being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves'.

Four youngsters, aged six, eight, 10 and 11, were taken to hospital in a critical condition after suffering cardiac arrests having fallen through ice at Babbs Mill Park at 2.30pm yesterday. Three of them could not be saved and the six-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital, police confirmed today at a press conference near the scene of the tragedy. Superintendent Richard Harris, of West Midlands Police, appeared emotional as he told how an officer had to be treated for mild hypothermia after trying to punch through the ice to save the boys. 'One of my officers was trying to punch through the ice to rescue the children themselves. That officer as a result of that had some mild hypothermia yesterday,' he said. The police who initially arrived at the scene went into the lake in their ordinary uniforms rather than specialist equipment. Superintendent Harris said the officer who was treated for hypothermia is now 'absolutely fine' and has been released from hospital. He added that the families of the children who fell into the lake are 'absolutely devastated'

Prepare for more chaos to get home: Bosses let workers leave early and schools tell parents to pick children up by 2pm 'so no one is travelling in the dark' - as Met Office warns of snow turning to ice

After this morning's snow-fueled travel chaos, workers and parents turned their attention to the topic of trying to get home this afternoon. Some kind bosses (lower inset) worried about their staff's safety permitted them to clock off early to avoid the slush's inevitable freeze to ice. And schools (top left and right) also adopted a similar approach, telling parents to pick up their kids by 2pm before it got dark (left).

Snowball effect! Cars crash into each other in slow motion pile up and bus slides into bollards as drivers struggle to stay in control in treacherous conditions

Why is Emily in Paris so bad Reddit

The crashes were caught on camera in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and shared on social media in a video viewed more than 700,000 times. In one clip, the driver of a silver Volkswagen is heard tooting their horn as a warning but is unable to bring the car to a halt before it slams into a black Vauxhall. A white BMW then also crashes into the back of that, causing a further pile up, as the driver of the Volkswagen jumps out from the behind the wheel, despite onlookers urging them not to. Footage also shows a group of six people trying to help a black people carrier back onto the road, as a cyclist rides precariously nearby. But their efforts were in vain as the car skids off the street, only just coming to a stop before hitting a fence. Another car is then seen sliding into some bollards, before a bus does the same, though the damage only appeared to be minor.

A young double amputee was left stranded at Gatwick Airport without his wheelchair for more than five hours after flights were delayed due to the adverse weather (left, pictured today). Tony Hudgell, eight, was on his way home after a four-day trip to Lapland, Finland, with his adoptive parents Paula and Mark Hudgell (right, pictured last week) when the incident occurred. It is claimed the Pride of Britain 2020 winner had his 'needs ignored' after waiting for hours for a wheelchair to arrive from off the airplane despite assistance being booked in advance. His family said that when the £6,500 wheelchair did finally arrive it 'was put on the conveyor belt and got twisted and bent', adding they would be lodging a complaint against the airline. Responding to the tweet, Jet2 said they were 'incredibly sorry' to hear about Tony's experience, and were looking into fixing the situation. Jet2 has been contacted for further comment.

Forty-year grudge that led to bloodbath: Son, 51, yelled 'You let us down' as he attacked elderly parents who sent him to boarding school in the 1980s demanding they 'compensate' him for his 'years of suffering'

Ed Linse (pictured left) battered his father Nicholas Clayton, 85 (pictured right) and mother Julia, 82, while saying: 'You let us down.' The brutal late night attack came after the 51-year-old repeatedly demanded that his parents 'compensated' him for his 'suffering' while studying at an all-boys public school in the 1980s. Retired engineer Mr Clayton spent five weeks in hospital after suffering head injuries consistent with being kicked, bitten, punched and strangled. His wife suffered bruising and a lump on her head.

Get ready for a virtual Christmas (again): Strikes and weather chaos mean MILLIONS won't return to offices until at least January as bosses give up trying to get staff in and families scrap parties to do 'festive dinner by Zoom' in echoes of Covid-era

Why is Emily in Paris so bad Reddit
Why is Emily in Paris so bad Reddit

Britons had to sacrifice seeing loved ones over the holiday period in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic - but now face having to do the same due to union barons shutting down critical services until January 10. Heavy snow and ice crippled London, the east and the south-east overnight with just 24 hours to go until union barons launch their mass walkout that will cripple train and bus services and the NHS, where nurses and paramedics will take industrial action. Britain's border force will disrupt people flying to see family, postal services will stop and hit Christmas deliveries and even driving examiners are downing tools over the coming weeks - hitting every part of British life. And now many families are facing up to the prospect of a bleak sense of deja vu - a Christmas at home and perhaps without family - but this time the driving force is a national strike in all but name. As a result, some may be feeling increasingly resigned to only seeing their loved ones via Zoom or other video conferencing tools once again - laying waste to the third Christmas in a row.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that the pair began chatting and took a taxi back to the village where Stevens lives, at just before 3am. CCTV footage shows Stevens and the woman, who is in her 30s, walking together through the deserted streets after being dropped off by the cab. Less than an hour later Stevens appears on the footage, walking back where they came from, alone. The victim was later discovered by a dog walker, naked, seriously injured and semi conscious, in a grassed area.

TV scientist who starred in a David Attenborough documentary is accused of FAKING data in a major study about the extinction of the dinosaurs - by a rival expert who published almost identical results

Why is Emily in Paris so bad Reddit
Why is Emily in Paris so bad Reddit

Robert DePalma at Manchester University (top right) published a study in December last year that said the dinosaurs went extinct in the springtime - but a former colleague, Dr Melanie During at Uppsala University (bottom right), has alleged that it's based on fake data. During has alleged DePalma made up data to support a conclusion that she'd already made. DePalma, eager to claim credit for the finding that the dinosaurs went extinct in the spring, 'wanted to scoop her', according to the journal Science, which first broke the news. DePalma published his paper in Scientific Reports in December 2021, a couple of months before During's paper was published in Nature. Both had also studied fossil deposits at the Tanis fossil site in North Dakota (left) that formed at the time of the impact.
