A Rare Gem of 2021

You Are My Hero is the kind of drama you should watch if you crave for a light and heart-warming story. Plot is not heavily written, but it is complex enough since it not only focused on the leads but rather opted to try to open doors for side stories as well.

I was pleasantly surprised by this show. The acting was outstanding. I thought the story was pretty good - it kept moving along with enough happening in each episode to make me want to watch the next one. It was a good quality series with good writing and acting.

THE STORY: 10/10
I really enjoyed how it was a simple, but attractive romance. Most of the characters had good character development.
Xing Ke Lei (ML) is charming, handsome, and good at practically everything. He is a Captain of Special Police Team. Mi Ka (FL) is an aspiring doctor, she is strong and caring person.
I enjoyed the relationship dynamics between the two leads, and the change in how they realized the extent of their feelings. They had such a healthy relationship and were there for each other in thick and thin.

THE CAST/ACTING: 10/10
I'm just so thankful to Bai Jing Ting for having portrayed as Xing Ke Lei perfectly. He embraced the character and brought such an authentic acting to the viewers. This definitely gave an opportunity for him to explore more romantic dramas (he has his first ever onscreen kiss scene in this drama).
I think all the cast was well-casted and they really reflected their characters very well.
I enjoyed their portrayals.

THE CHEMISTRY: 10/10
The leads have incredible chemistry. It honestly felt like I was watching a real-life couple. They had some shyness when they to admitting their feelings and first time dating, but it is worth it. Their cute and caring behaviors, it was all just perfect.

MUSIC: 10/10
All the songs are good and smoothing. They are all suitable with the story.

All in all, this drama would not stress the hell out of you at all. I love how they showed that a healthy relationship roots from two people being honest together.
I love this show. Definitely 10/10 for me and I would surely watch again.
