Can anybody tell me what "my soul is on fire" means? I AM NOT LOOKING FOR THE TRANSLATION, I am looking for what you really mean when you say that to someone else

Do you have a complete sentence with surrounding text? Or at least a source? That's a rather unusual thing to say.

I was just talking to a friend about a movie she wants to watch whenever it comes out, and then she told me "yes, my soul is on fire", I do not know if what she meant was that she was really waiting for that moment

What do I really mean when I say that? For my part, I have never said that in my life, nor have I ever heard anyone say it to me or to anyone else. As Tazzler notes, it is a strange thing to say. If I had to guess what she meant (and it is only a guess), the girl is saying that she very much wants to see the movie -- but who knows?

I have heard it used in song lyrics. It means to fire up your passion for something. There is a song Set my Soul on Fire and Elvis Presley used it in his song "Viva Las Vegas":

"Bright light city gonna set my soul, Gonna set my soul on fire!" (Viva Las Vegas!)

In general, it's a passionate way to express that she's filled with extremely warm, eager, almost-sexual-like feelings for something.

The exact opposite of "not interested."

Specifically here, it sounds like she's telling you in a very dramatic way that she's really looking forward to seeing that movie.

American women don't generally verbally express themselves in such a flagrant way about anything.

If she's Spanish, maybe that hot blood of hers just needs to be released.

Not at all, I am married and she was talking about Harry Potter, she is so much older than me, even though it is not an excuse, but she was not trying to say that, neither I wanted to take that "offer" in case that was the case... but I will watch the movie with my wife in case she was talking about that, I don't want to take any chances LOL

Then this is a woman whose emotions are bigger than life. You would see this trait not just in this one remark.

If you know her well, or even a bit, this kind of over-the-top expressive way of just talking about a Harry Potter movie is not demonstrative of a woman who's quiet and unassuming.

This is not a judgment. She's just exhibiting a very flamboyant way of speaking.

A simple guy might well wonder to himself, "Is she coming on to me?"

But I will go back to your innocent original question. It seems she's a big Potter fan and those fans get very caught up in the fantasy. With her, it seems to be to the point that it highly affects all her senses, even to the depths of her soul.

You might expect this from a young girl. Hearing a mature woman say this would be unusual, in my opinion - but not impossible.

By the way, since when is a married man off-limits in this world?
