The Role We are currently seeking to appoint a Mechatronics Engineer to work in our Automation team. Through this team, we deliver Robotic Welding and cutting systems, Profile cutting systems, Hard automation welding systems, Virtual welding training systems and Welding fume control systems To be successful in this role applicant will be able to demonstrate a record of accomplishment of providing a professional level of engineering and technology support in mechanical and electrical system design as applied to automated welding and cutting systems. The Candidate The ideal candidate will have PLC programming 2D and 3D CAD capabilities. Have demonstrated experience with mechanical and electrical design and documentation, safety system design as per AS4024, project management, support of technology products, and delivering end user product training and demonstrations. Welding/cutting and robot experience is preferred but not essential. You will be degree qualified in an engineering field preferably mechatronics, however electrical will also be considered. Requirement is for the candidate to have 1-2 years’ experience in a related field preferably including industrial automation. This role will require frequent travel to meet with distributors, customers and end users, and execute system installations and customer training.
