If not the best book I've ever read, it is absolutely, without question in my top 3.
I started it in January and doubted that I'd ever finish it just due to its sheer length. It took me quite a while to read; I didn't read daily, and would sometimes go weeks without reading it. I finished the last half within the last 3 weeks and can't believe the journey is over.
I haven't felt this empty since I finished watching The Sopranos :-(

What an amazing and captivating story. Dumas' writing ability left me absolutely dumbfounded every time I'd pick the book up. I've never read about such perfectly crafted and complex characters. Such memorable scenes, relationships, and events. I feel as though I'll never read a book like this one.

This post doesn't have much of a point, but I just feel so moved by this book and am sad to say it's over.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Or just any books that you read after Monte Cristo that you felt complemented it in some way, whatever it may be?
