Groups of 15, up to a maximum of 50 paying guests, may receive our discounted group rate. To receive a group rate, one person must pay for the entire party and the group is required to enter the Zoo together. Refunds cannot be given for guests who do not attend. Please submit an iquiry for special group requests.

Hours and General Information

  • Zoo Atlanta is open all year long, closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • We have transitioned to a timed ticketing system to limit the number of guests inside the Zoo at any given time.
  • Zoo Hours (Nov. 1 – Feb. 28):
    • Daily: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Last entry is 3:30 p.m.
      • We begin to bring our animals in for the day an hour prior to the grounds closing.
      • Food stands close an hour prior to the grounds closing.
  • The following items are prohibited at Zoo Atlanta:
    • Weapons, except as permitted by law
    • Alcoholic beverages of any kind
    • See a full list of prohibited items here.

Can you buy tickets at the gate at Atlanta zoo?

Guests may purchase tickets at our front gates, but the day's prices will be their highest on the day of the visit. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance on our website.

What age is free at Zoo Atlanta?

Your General Admission ticket includes admission to Zoo Atlanta. Admission is free for children under 3 years old. A date and time reservation is required for purchase.

Can I bring water into Atlanta zoo?

Zoo Atlanta allows visitors to bring their own food and drinks into their facility. They have picnic tables in the zoo's KIDZone and Grand Patio areas available for you to use at no extra cost. They only ask that you not bring in glass containers, straws or alcohol.
