How to answer cuando es tu cumpleaños

In this episode Marina’s question is ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños? – “When is your birthday”. Using the answers you’ll learn to say when your birthday is in Spanish.

Here are the words and phrases you’ll need:

When is your birthday? – ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños? (informal)
When is your birthday? – ¿Cuándo es su cumpleaños? (formal)
My birthday is … Mi cumpleaños es el …
I turn 15 tomorrow – Cumplo 15 años mañana

Note that you can use the verb cumplir which literally means “to accomplish”.

La respuesta: Mi cumpleaños es ... (por ejemplo) el 7 de agosto, 1995

My birthday is (for example) 7th August, 2017 (Dos mil diecisiete)

​Cuándo es tu cumpleanos?

         When’s your birthday ?

In order to be able to tell someone your birthday, you must be able to:

1)    Know how to say the days of the month

2)     Know the numbers up to 31

3)    Now what’s the question of what’s your birthday and how you answer it

*The months of the year in Spanish all began with lower case letters, opposite of the months of the year in English.

The numbers in Spanish up to 31 are…….

Birthday . . .

In Spanish you put the number before the month.

Ex.  My birthday is on September 24. This is how it would look. 

Question: Cuándo es su cumpleanos?

Answer: es el viente y cuatro de septiembre.
