Oculus Quest 2. I have a Samsung TV and on the Oculus app and it doesn’t show up on the options to cast too, so I have to AirPlay to the TV. When I do this it is EXTREMELY laggy (unwatchable). What is the best way to cast to the TV? Google Chrome cast, Computer, Airplay, etc?

Just tried, when I do this the screen shrinks and has black bars on both sides of the screen, almost looks like a vertical screen being casted. Anyway to fix this? I have a Macbook Pro, if that helps any.

Do you know what network your TV is connected to? If either your TV or Quest is not connected to the 5ghz band and is on 2.4ghz the performance will be really choppy. If your router is dual band the TV will automatically connect to the 2.4ghz if its far away. So split bands and force connect to 5ghz or use an ethernet cable.

Alright thank you, will try this tomorrow

Chromecast I really recommend. Tried a bunch of ways to cast the Oculus on the TV with laptop, smart TV, mobile app. The easiest I found was with a Chromecast. All devices on the same network and you connect the phone to the Oculus then you cast on Chromecast(TV).

Notes: There is a slight delay between the Oculus headset and the TV. It's somewhat noticeable if you play Beat Saber. The TV music won't be in sync with Headset music and you generally turn off the volume on headset to listen on TV. If you go to a friend's house to play VR you'd have to factory reset the Chromecast and reconfigure it from the "Home" app on their Wi-Fi network. It takes about 10 minutes.

Do you think the 4k version (chromecast with google tv) would have less delay?

Buy a super cheap gen 1 Chromecast off eBay.

Chromecast with TV. Wired via ethernet cable. Either buy the ethernet plug 100mb or a usb-c passthrough hub with ethernet 1gb.this means only 1 part is wireless (oculus to chromecast)

Okay, I will have to go buy one tomorrow if I can’t find another way. I will be back for some questions.

Chromecast ultra.

You can get a stadia premier bundle off ebay for about £40/50

This gets you the chromecast ultra AND a Google Stadia controller, stadia gets raw deal, but at this price its the best deal in gaming, you get to cast your Quest2, stream 4k content ofc your phone/tablet and get Stadia.

No brainer at this price point

Was there any delay with beatsaber?

I cast to phone, phone connected to TV via HDMI (lightening to hdmi connector). Quick setup. Failsafe. Top tip: Get adaptor with double lightening entrance so you can add powerbank at the same time.

(Only downside is the damn 'record' button which has the option to turn off in settings but doesn't work? Please fix Meta. Also make it so it remembers settings so I don't have to turn audio off every time? And kill that first video it plays when I hit casting? I don't need to see it 100 times? Thanks!)

I use the webbrowser on my LG TV and cast it to that. It works ok

I just downloaded castreciver and installed it on my TV, I think it mimics chromecast? Shouldn't take you more than a couple of minutes to start casting on your TV. No phone involved.

I just connect my oculus and my TV to the same network and then I can cast.

Unfortunately my internet is ultimate shit as I need vpn to connect to oculus first (stuck in China) and also my TV doesn't support 5g as I noticed, only 2g, so it's a bigger issue for me here. I would like to know how it would work with a nice Wi-Fi without vpn involved..

I'm really hoping to find an option that works with Roku but Firestick would also work. I had an app on my parents Firestick that allowed me to cast my Quest 2 but I cant recall the name of the app and google is not proving helpful. Im hoping to introduce a few friends to VR later this evening and really need a way to cast to TV.

How to cast oculus to TV Reddit

I was playing a bit of beat saber today, something with my wife and I really enjoyed on PS VR. However I realized that one of the things I was missing was streaming it to the television. What’s the preferred way to do that nowadays?

I use a Chromecast and it works pretty good. It’s a little delayed so we turn the volume down so it doesn’t mess with the person playing. If you have headphones this might not be an issue.

I started by mirroring my phone to an AppleTV connected to the TV. That had a little delay so I bought a chromecast but that has an even worse delay. Overall it’s doable but in my experience mirroring your phone (if you have apple) is better than Chromecast. This I hope this improves in the future because it’s really a necessary thing for group use.

Chromecast works great, but there is an annoying red recording dot in your vision which ruins the immersion. They need an option to remove this.

Ok, this isn’t exactly what you asked but if your end goal is getting it on the TV, I’ve found this way to be the best from Tyco Tech:

Then I just connect my laptop to my receiver via HDMI.

Actually I have a PC in the room connected to the TV. Maybe this will work, thanks!
