This is a solution to not being able to use a last gen Bluetooth device on your PS4. Show This will take up one of the USB slots on the PS4 and doesn't void a warranty. This device is a USB sound card that has Bluetooth built into it so it handles the pairing and transmitting while the PS4 Thinks its just a USB Headset. The PS4 Doesn't know that is has a secondary Bluetooth connection. Devices I know of two devices and can only personally confirm that one works
I'm not saying that these are the only devices that do this. You can search for a different cheaper product and try it out as long as it doesn't require special drivers on the PC it should work on the PS4. If you can find one that works cheaper Please share it. working headsets or Bluetooth devices Please take note this list is for the BTD 500
Confirmed not working
Please take note
Why this works The reason this works is because Sony added support to USB headsets which in turn opened up the ability to use USB sound cards. So while Sony did lock last gen Bluetooth Headsets out of the PS4s native option of connection they gave us this option by opening up USB support. Lastly I cannot Guarantee that a Bluetooth USB sound cards in general will be able to pair with your headset(s) or Speakers. I'm just putting this out there that you can have a wireless headset again you just need the right device I can confirm that my Turtle Beach PX51 headset and my motorola H720 headset paired to my BTD 500 and worked. hope to see you all online. ps I tried to post this in May and since my account wasn't old enough I couldn't. I've been using this setup since May and it works perfectly for me. The Bluetooth standard doesn't really support high quality stereo audio and mic at the same time, and that's one of the main reasons why PS4 doesn't support Bluetooth headsets. The wireless headsets made for PS4 either use their own custom Bluetooth protocol (which would apply to the controller too), or RF. Other reasons are the Bluetooth delay and increased potential for wireless interference. If they really wanted, they probably could support Bluetooth headsets without the support for mics, but then people get pissy about that too, and the delay and wireless interference could still be an issue. Having used Blutooth audio on the Switch for quite a while now, I have the exact opposite feeling at this point. I rarely ever get latency and it’s amost always a great experience. If I’m playing local multiplayer, I generally don’t want to use Bluetooth audio anyway. The compromises Nintendo made are quite minor in practical experience and, I feel, only demonstrate clearly why Sony and Microsoft should follow suit. I think the only difference that matters a little bit is the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch does make Bluetooth audio a little more useful. Most people do have good or decent audio hooked up to their TV; but it would still be a very welcome feature. Okay, long story short, I got nice Bluetooth headphones for Christmas, only to find out that PS4 does not accept Bluetooth devices. I know I can buy a special USB, but I don't have 50$ to drop. I am under the impression that I can hack/jailbreak my ps4 to use any Bluetooth audio. I am searching for anyone who can better inform me. Feel free to PM me.
