How to delete Course Hero documents Reddit

I need Course Hero to remove my uploaded documents. I've sent them dozens of requests from my Course Hero account and email address, but they just keep ignoring me for almost a year (I am sure that is because my documents are highly profitable.).

So I sent them dozens of requests from my Course Hero account and to between summer 2020 to Feb 2021 - no response.

I sent them a DMCA request form my Course Hero account on 17/02/21 - no response.

I sent them a DMCA request to on 18/02/21 - though they did not reply back to me, at least they removed a majority of my uploaded documents.

I sent them a request to delete the rest of my uploaded documents to on 19/02/21 - no response, but they removed the rest too.

So a coursehero representative came to our school and convinced myself and many others to upload documents. I stupidly uploaded some of my professors lectures, and my friend did as well. My friend got a notice from the school saying how this is academic dishonesty and is at risk of failing the class. I emailed coursehero asking to take down the documents, but they refused, saying “feel free to review our terms of use”. Anything I can do about this?

They have a DMCA takedown link that I've used hundreds of times, and it has always worked. You can submit a link to every file you've submitted if you hold the copyright, and they will do so. But if it's your professor's lectures, he/she may need to do it.

What confuses me is they have a statement about copyright infringement on the site, but isn't everything a DMCA violation, since professors always have rights to their materials? I don't care if my students share lecture slides but I just checked and my materials (uploaded by a student) are behind a paywall on their site. They're making money off only others' IP- seems incredibly illegal and I'm not sure how they're operating.

You shared someone else's content on a website? Aside from the academic dishonesty (idk what the site does), that is straight up copyright infringement.

To clarify: did you upload your notes of the lecture, or did you upload the professor's PowerPoints? If the former, try to DMCA it, as someone already suggested. If you uploaded copies of notes created by the professor, then the professor will need to DMCA them. Good luck telling the professor that.....

I'd look into seeing if a DMCA takedown could work, especially if you hold the copyrights to any of the documents.

Well, did you review the terms of use? What do they say?

I've had students put some of my exams on Coursehero. I complained to them about it, showing them the links to the locations, and they pointed me to the copyright form I had fill out. I replied with with a very terse "How about I just contact my university's legal team instead?"

As it turns out, that seems to work.
