Ive just started watching the dub (loving every second of it) and i was wondering how do you pronounce shippuden?

Also does anyone know what it means? is it significant or just a buzz word to jazz up the title?

I'd be too ashamed to talk about Naruto in person, therefore no pronunciation is necessary.

same lol i used to talk about it kinda with friends who watched it online when the first season just hit the internet from Japan. Now that its been cartoon networkized it seems all kiddy, maybe its been kiddy this whole time but just seems more now...

Don't think I can explain how to pronounce a japanese word to an american guy when I'm Italian XD
Anyways, I do not think it is all that childish, though it may give that impression at first, but if you delve deeper... hell, anyone read the latest chapter out in Japan? I dare anyone to label that kind of action kiddy...
Just fish around for the first tankobon of HunterXHunter, looks enormously kiddy but it's one of the most complicated and violent shounen stories I have ever read, so we shouldn't trust in appearances. Have no trouble talking about it even at work :P

What is the meaning of Shippuden in Japanese?

Shippuden is a Japanese term that is made up of two words—shippu and den. Shippu is a noun that translates to “swift, strong wind.” Meanwhile, den is also a noun that translates to “legends”, or “chronicles.” Together, Shippuden translates to Hurricane Legends or Hurricane Chronicles.

Why do they call it Naruto Shippuden?

Understanding the Kanji Separated, it reads Shi(tsu)-Pu(tsu)-Den. 'Shi' means 'fast', 'Pu' means wind, and 'Den' means legends or chronicles. Together, it reads as "Hurricane Chronicles/Hurricane Legends." But this is only the literal translation of Shippuden.
