Marking your item as a gift may allow you to:

Include a packing slip so the recipient knows who it's from.
Hide prices on the packing slip.
Include a personalised gift message.
Add optional gift wrap.

The gift message will be printed on the packing slip. If you've added gift wrapping, the packing slip will be placed in an envelope marked "Keep your gift a surprise". The name and address you provide as the delivery address will appear on the packing slip. If your gift order includes items intended for different recipients, make sure you enter a gift message for each item. The recipient will also be able to use the packing slip to return an item if necessary. You can also choose to send a digital copy of your gift message and receipt which will be sent upon delivery of the gift itself.

If you choose not to gift-wrap the item (or the item can't be wrapped), the gift message will be printed on the packing slip. Gift wrapping may not be available for some items and some items can't be wrapped because of their unusual size, weight or shape. Often, these items will arrive in their original packaging. When this is the case, it'll be noted during the checkout process. If available for the item, you may mark Ship in Amazon box on the checkout page if you don't want to reveal the contents. If that option is selected, the item will be dispatched in an Amazon.com.au box at no additional cost.

Purchased gift items won't affect the recommendations we give you. If you send a Kindle as a gift, the recipient can register the Kindle to their own account when it arrives.

When you place an order, you can specify that an item is a gift and add gift options.

To send an order as a gift:

Select Add to Cart on the product detail page.
Check the This order contains a gift box.
Select Proceed to Checkout.
Select a shipping address add a new one, or allow the recipient to provide their shipping address.
Select Add gift options .
1. Hide prices on the packing slip for this purchase will be automatically selected.
2. Include a free gift message. You can amend the gift message after you order as long as the order isn't in the delivery process.
3. Gift wrap the item.
4. Email the recipient a gift receipt after delivery (this also gives the recipient the choice to digitally unwrap their gift after it has been delivered).
If a gift option isn't available, you'll see a notice to let you know.
Select Save Gift Options.
Note:
- You can add or change gift options after you order as long as the order isn't in the shipping process. To do so, go to Your Orders and select View or edit order.

Hi When you purchase, mark as a gift, itll give you the option to insert a message/card, at time of checkout, edit your shipping address to your friends address and itll be shipped there. be sure when you buy anything additional, the shipping address is correct ..I have over twenty shipping addresses in my amazon address book now as I send gifts all the time. good luck and enjoy... love amazon!

I have no idea. Amazon is apparently REALLY
STUPID when it comes to shipping to someone who’s ALREADY in my PERSONAL contacts. I don’t want to fill in an entire form when the info is already on my phone. Multiple sales lost because of this complete inadequacy. LOST ONE TONIGHT in fact.

Go into "My account", scroll down to "Settings", select "Add new address" under "Address book" and add the friend's address. Purchase item as normal, and select the friend's address at checkout.

When you place the order, you are given the option to ship to an address other than yours.

I believe during the checkout process you can edit the ship to information. I would remove your name and replace it with the person you wish to ship it to. Then confirm that it is the right address before you continue with the speed one with which you want the product sent. After these steps are done then place or complete your order.
