The TI-30X IIS is a scientific calculator capable of performing various functions, including general math problems such as fractions. The calculator can work with a simple fraction, such as ¾, or a mixed fraction, such as 3 2/3. Unless otherwise specified, the calculator provides an answer containing fractions. To do fractions on the calculator, the numbers must be entered a certain way to ensure the calculator accurately performs the calculations. Simple FractionsEnter the numerator using the keys on the TI-30X IIS. The numerator is the top number in the fraction. For example, in the fraction ½, the 1 is the numerator. Press the “A b/c” key. The key is located on the third row from the top of the calculator. Enter the denominator of the fraction. Using the previous example of ½, the denominator is 2. Enter the remainder of the problem, and press “Enter” to solve. For example, if you want to add a whole number to the fraction, press the “+” key and whole number, then press “Enter.” Mixed FractionsEnter the whole number using the keys of the TI-30X IIS. For example, the whole number in the fraction 1 3/6 is 1. Press the “A b/c” key, and then enter the numerator. The numerator is the top number of the fraction. Using the previous example, the numerator is 3. Press the “A b/c” key again and enter the denominator. In 1 3/6, the denominator is 6. Enter the remainder of the math problem, and press “Enter” to solve. |
