Reviewed by JZH1000 from Colorado 3.5/5 rDev -7.7% Had on tap at Lucero's Tavern IV On arrival a solid bone white one finger head that was overflowing from the bartender pouring the head out the glass, that slowly became slightly rocky, but has very nice retention was present. The body is a very lightly hazy gold color with lots of active fine carbonation. Some decent lacing forms. Aroma is a bit of a benchmark for a modern American ipa. Fruity and hoppy with hints of bitterness and a strong citrus and lightly tropical smell. Not much else going on here. Taste is again pretty simple. Some hop bitterness is present before coming into a hop profile that is basically the same as the aroma: Grapefruit with a hint of guava/pineapple. Again high quality but pretty one note. Malts are hard to pick up over the fruity hops. Despite not being a hazy this one isn't very resinous or dank and leans heavily on the fruit, with a slight beery note to remind d you this is in fact a beer. Not super sweet but it's bitter and fruity woth just a hint of everything else. Feel is easydrinking but full bodied with a relatively neutral mouthfeel but still has a bit of mouthcoating malts. A medium to long finish reminds you that this isn't a light beer and maybe you should slow down a bit. Overall I dundertand the voodoo ranger line, "IPAs" that aren't overly bitter but also don't advertise themselves as fruity. The perfect way to get bud and coors drinkers to try a craft IPA. It's not fruity so you're still a man, but it's certainly not bitter like old school WCIPAs that would scare away somebody used to easy drinking beers. It's decent but a bit boring and standard. -3.2% Pours a nice bright orange, eggshell head, some spotty lacing. Nice citrus aromas without being fruity. Malty backbone gives it some balance. A nice IPA. Aug 08, 2022Reviewed by Bitterbill from Wyoming 3.81/5 rDev +0.5% On draught at Old Chicago. Pours a brilliantly clear gold with an inch of foam, good lacing. Smells hoppy, citrus, grass, toasted malt, a bit of a spice kick. Taste is grass, citrus, some toasted malt, on the somewhat dry side to me. Good mouthfeel, good IPA. Aug 04, 2022Reviewed by ammo1 2.91/5 rDev -23.2% The qualities like easy to drink and fruity hops ring true with this one. Unfortunately flavor is thin and bitterness at the back of the tongue is almost non-existent. Tasted more like a Blue Moon or wheat beer than an IPA. My neighbor joined me for a Voodoo and an Elysian Space Dust. Both of us heavily preferred the latter. Maybe it's the style. Never again. Jun 27, 2022Reviewed by gatornation from Florida 4/5 rDev

-6.6% It's kind of the Budweiser of IPAs. By which I mean it's certainly not horrible — it's clearly an IPA, which makes it ipso facto better than any light beer, or wheat beer, or bock beer, etc. — and it has at least *some* personality. Tonight I purchased a 6-pack because choices were few at the store I happened into & I hadn't had any Voodoo Ranger for a year or two. It's OK, but I don't expect to buy it again unless I happen to be someplace where it's the only IPA on tap. There are many better alternatives. May 06, 2022Reviewed by brewandbbq from New Hampshire 3.79/5 rDev 0% 12oz can dated best before July. Pours clear yellow with a half inch head of white. Moderate retention and lacing. Extremely faint citrusy hops in the nose with a touch of honey. Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Mild hops on the palate with hints of grapefruit and pine. Finishes with balancing malt and fading honey. May 01, 2022Reviewed by ANIMOUL from Vermont 3.81/5 rDev +0.5% Poured from a 19.2 can with a drink by date of 6/22/22. Solid yellow color with good amount of foamy head and lacing throughout. A bit light on the feel & body, subtle sweet notes of malt with decent hop bitterness. Decent. Apr 16, 2022Reviewed by MichaelGennings from Canada (ON) 4.03/5 rDev +6.3% New Belgium’s Voodoo Ranger IPA. Contract brewed by Steam Whistle in Toronto. Beer is 7% alc. Honey golden colour with frothy white head that dissipates quickly. Smell is mild hops, more hints of melon than pine. Taste is predominantly piney and tart. Mouthfeel is prickly at first and then kind of silky. Beer is medium bodied with a smooth and wet kind of finish. Very nice glass lacing. Like something out of a 1980s beer commercial. This beer is delicious, if you enjoy the style, which I most certainly do. At 7% it’s boozy so you don’t want to drink a bunch in a row. Grade: A Apr 10, 2022Reviewed by Jnwoodman56 2.55/5 rDev -32.7% Had high hopes as I recently really enjoyed a Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA. This one just really lacked character of any kind really. Drinkable but just ok.
