Nike Epic React vs Infinity React Reddit

Alphafly/Hyperion Tempo/Infinity Run 3/Invincible 2/Glycerine 20

I have to disagree with you here, but it depends on you are using these shoes for. I just did my 30 km long run in them today and they're really one of the most consistent shoes from the first km to the last.

When I'm deep into marathon training like right now and my foot is getting a bit upset from the pounding, I put these shoes on as I know they will give me a super stable ride and offer the right amount of cushioning (too much when you're exhausted can cause problems, sadly).

I have the Invincible 2's as well and they're more fun, I agree. However, I prefer not to use them if ever I feel on the brink of exhaustion from training, just because I don't find them as stable as the Infinity 3's. Funny enough, I also have the Glycerine 20's and these Infinity's are just a bit faster, they have a really satisfying rocker too compared to the Invincibles or the Glycerines.

To each their own! :) Happy running. P.S. that foam also lasts 1000 miles which is ridiculous.

Nike Infinity React - the shoe that is "proven" to prevent running injuries.⁣ ⁣ I have run exactly 293.4 miles in my original pair. Here's a little review:⁣

⁣ The fit is wide, especially in the toe box. Normally Nike are too narrow for my hobbit feet but these are just perfect.⁣ ⁣ The upper is a new type of lofted knit which again is very comfortable. Only downside is that there are no overlays to stabilise the foot. This can make cornering a slightly sloppy experience.⁣

⁣ The cushioning is the absolutely lush 'React' material. It's soft, it's bouncy, it's light, it's responsive. It ticks alll the boxes and there is a LOT of it. Think @Hokaoneone; this is not a minimal shoe. It even has a rocker...⁣

⁣ The grip on the road is excellent and it handles very well in the wet. Also absolutely no signs of wear so it's very robust. On a trail it is largely awful. I run a lot of mixed terrain where I would just use a road shoe but the Infinity struggles here. Parkrun was a bit of a nightmare after some rain the night before. BUT it is a pure road shoe and absolutely not designed for what I was throwing at it.⁣

⁣ Stabilisation wise it's an interesting one. The shoe is neutral BUT there is this slightly odd clip to provides some stability. This is combined with a really wide flared base on the shoe. Market wise there is a trend away from traditional medial wedge support technology. Brands are heading towards more holistic support options like guide rails (looking at you @brooksrunninguk). The Infinity follows this trend providing support if you need it and none if you don't.⁣

⁣ If you want a high cushion shoe with plenty of bounce this could be the one. It's perfect for clocking up the miles but also copes well with the odd bit of speedwork or a tempo. Just remember on trail you will need to take things carefully or you risk a tumble. ⁣ ⁣ Oh and does the shoe prevent injury? absolutely no idea...⁣

From your guy’s experience, which would you recommend? I’m a midfoot striker and a heavy guy (230lbs) if that helps. Very new to running (currently doing a c25k program) and using the Nike pegasus 38 for my runs. Maybe because I’ve only had very few miles with them (17) but the pegs 38 feel bland; boring. Great for walking. Okay for running.

I’ve read many positive things about the invincible run 2 and react infinity v2 (haven’t seen many for the v3) for being soft, springy, bouncy, comfortable, enjoyable runs. Would love to hear your guys experience that have own invincible run 2 and/or react infinity 2 ( or v3). Good or bad. Thanks

Tl;dr same as title

I've been running for about 18 months (46 M), starting with parkruns and extending to 10k, now up to 13k runs. I'd like to get to half marathon distance in the next couple of months. I can run a 25 min 5k and 53 min 10k.

My first shoe was the Nike Epic React Flyknit 1 which I really like. It feels light, holds my foot well and has good cushioning. I also have the v2 of this shoe which is clearly very similar but for some reason the v1 just feels more comfortable to me. When I started I also bought a pair of Pegasus 34s - I've never really got on with them and find they feel a little heavy and stiff although they seem to warm up after a couple of kms.

My epic react 1s now have about 600km on them and need to be replaced.

I'd love some thoughts on what people think I should consider as a running shoe. I'm not absolutely sworn to staying with Nike but don't have any experience of other brands.

My new Boston Terrier pup definitely approves of these, lol. Long story short, if you liked the ride of the first 2 versions, you'll be happy here as it is largely unchanged.

There are some small differences though. First, the heel clip and arch area are toned down a bit-the plastic bit doesn't go as far into the midfoot as the first couple versions. To me this is for the better. The arch is also not as crazy as the first 2 versions. I remember before I broke in the first couple pairs, it would feel like a golf ball was resting under my arch standing in these. There's still an elevated "support" profile in the arch but it is not as severe and this will make the break in easier I think. The new upper is definitely an upgrade, incredibly comfortable knit and the tongue of the shoe feels very sturdy :)

Last but not least, I think Nike has tinkered slightly with the formulation of React here. It could be my imagination but it felt slightly softer and bouncier than it has in the past. Nobody will mistake this for ZoomX, Lightstrike Pro or PWRRUN PB, but there was a pleasing rebound off the pavement this morning.

Can Nike React be used for running?

A Nike React midsole and carbon fiber plate supply a durable and fast ride to hit those training goals. And the upper combines a comfortable sock-like fit and stable lockdown across the midfoot for chasing those times down. High energy return and durability mean you can train faster and more often.

Are Nike reacts good quality?

The ride quality is also very neutral – the midsole sidewalls have a balanced design. These traits make the Nike React Infinity Run 3 a good trainer for in-gym use. This blend of cushioning and stability makes it suitable for mild weight-training and short treadmill runs.

How many miles Nike Epic react?

Noticeable wear around 50 miles Nike claims the shoe could last at least 400-500 miles, and some sources have said the upper limit is 650 miles.
