Our front lawn was starting to turn a little yellow, even after raising the lawn mower blade cutting height, and only trimming off a 1/3 ammount on cuttings. Reading, I found out that my lawn just needed some fertilizer. After applying this Scott's Turf Builder on setting 2 of Scotts whirly bird spreader, it took only 3 days for the grass to turn the darkest green in all the neighborhood! I have had neighbors knocking on the door asking what the heck I applied, lol, and steered them back to this. Even after mowing a few times, the grass is still a beautiful dark green and the very small clover parch on the side of my yard has shriveled up and basically dissapeared! 5 stars, highly recommend, and 2 thumbs wayyyy up!

This product WORKS to get rid of weeds and it does turn the grass a much deeper tone of green, been using this product for decades. It spreads well, and left overs keep until next season.
It has a very strong odor so clean out your spreader well before storing, maybe put the left over in a sealed bucket.

My yard was half weeds and a wide variety of them. Conditions during and after spreading will determine how well this works. Everything depends on that. It's not that you got a 'bad bag'. Check the weather. If you can put it down after a heavy dew early in the morning and you know it won't rain for two days and it's going to get borderline hot on those next two days - then this will work great. Directions say no water for 24 hours. If you can give it another day w/o water - you'll get most all of the weeds and even a tiny bit of the grass will die where it got laid down too heavy. Like where it was building up and falling off the wet wheels of the spreader in clumps. In a week the grass will bounce back in a big way and most of the weeds will be dead. I've used this before and not followed directions and not gotten results. Dew is critical but so is a couple warm, sunny days w/o water. Then give it a good drink to perk up the grass.

used 2 of these at the beginning of the season and it really did help keep the weeds down and put a little green in it. then the drought hit and there was not much grass but the weeds did not run wild as i thought they would. it must have been the turf builder helping

Results of “Scott’s Turf Builder, Weed & Feed, Clears Out Dandelions & Clover”:

I live in Southern California. My lawn is an unruly mix of weeds & unknown grasses barely eking out an existence on minimal water. Between mowings, it becomes completely covered in little white weed flowers which I believe are white clover.

March 28 — It miraculously rained in my area for a few hrs. When the sun came out, I ran out to use my brand-new Scott’s hand-spreader (which I highly recommend as being easy to use) and coated the lawn with Scott’s Weed & Feed. I thought the rain was finished, but about 3 hrs later it rained hard again. I didn’t know if the second burst of rain ruined the Weed & Feed I had just spread around.

April 11 — Turns out, it didn’t. Here it is 2 weeks later, during which I watered the lawn every other day, and the lawn is looking surprisingly good. I’d guestimate that approximately 70% of the white flowers are gone. The lawn looks significantly better in all respects. I’m sure the extra watering helped, too.

April 15 — I did a second spread of Weed & Feed just on the remaining streams of white flowers.

April 25 — The lawn looks good. No white flowers at all. Not all the weeds are dead. There are still tiny yellow, low-growing weed flowers that the Scott’s doesn’t seem to have affected. Nonetheless, the lawn is no longer a sea of white.

Unfortunately, I’ll probably not be able to keep up the level of watering I’m temporarily doing, but I have to say the Weed & Feed made a difference on my particular lawn. This is in direct contrast to the Snap Pac Weed & Feed I tried a couple of yrs ago that made absolutely no difference and was a complete waste of money.

Since I did the above, I’ve read that a 3 in 1 product is even better. Next time, I’ll try the 3 in1.

I have been using this product for years. It is amazing. My yard looks fantastic and my neighbors all ask me what I put on my lawn. Easy to attach to hose and one bottle does my front and back yard.
